NCLEX-RN CA results

Nursing Students NCLEX

just wondering... of those of you that have taken the NCLEX-RN here in CA (or know anyone who has)...have any of you received PASSING results in the mail BEFORE your name showed up on the website?

hi! I just got my NCLEX results 2 days ago from CA and received the very good news! I HAVE PASSED THE NCLEX! Very happy and felt sooo relief! Good luck...

That's what I'm wondering also. 2 of my friends said that they passed the nclex...(based from the mail)...but I don't know if they really passed because until now, their names are not posted on the website (they said they passed about a year ago) though they have ssn.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

If they received a letter saying they passed then they have passed.

I have looked at the CA website and I don't see my name there yet. But the letter that I have received - a confirmation that I have passed and they asked for my SSN which I have given them before along with my application but now I have to give it to them again for me to be able to receive my permanent license. So will let u guys know when I received my permanent license.

I don't really know...if they passed, then that's good...if they didn't, then try again until you have that RN after your name =)

Unless their name is up on the website, they have not been issued a license by the BRN. This is also used by employers to verify a license as well.

When one receives the letter that they have passed, and they hold a US SSN# and have no issues pending against them, then a license number is issued.

If one does not submit the SSN# to them when they submit their application for licensure, they will receive a passing letter and then are informed that they need to submit the SSN# before the license number will be assigned to them.

This would be the only time that one would receive a passing letter and not see their name on the website for the BRN.

Thanks Suzanne4 for the info...that's what i know too.

Hi, Dream 1987! I understand how you feel. I know the waiting is just too painful! But what you can do right now it try to relax and make yourself busy. That way you will not think too much on your nclex results. The thing with CA results is that they didn't participate in the quick results( 2 days after ur exam - you will know if u pass or fail) compared to other states. So, I think it will take them at LEAST 10 days to process it. When I took my nclex, that was dec. 17, 2008 and I received my results thru mail on Dec. 30, 2008. My result letter was dated dec. 26, 2008 so it got a bit delayed, probably because at that time u know christmas holidays and all that. Also depends where you are. If you are outside US it may take longer depending on the mail system of the country you are in.

With regards to your name appearing on the BRN website - don't worry about it for now. In my case, I passed the nclex and yet my name is still not in there. But of course I am not worry at all. Its just takes some time to process things and considering also there's a lot of applicants. So right now, I am still waiting but EXCITED. Can't wait to see my name appearing on the BRN website with my license number on. :yeah:

Lastly, I am also a foreign graduate nurse but I DID IT! I don't believe in the saying that if you are foreign grad you will have a lesser chance of passing the exam. ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE! I think really depends on individual cases.

Good luck with your results. Hope the good news is on its way... :)

it helped me a lot now i have more hope than before ....:yeah:

i hope i will get something tomorrow

i will post my result here no matter what it is :)

thanks

Those that train in the US have an 85% chance of passing the exam the first time. Those that train in other countries have about a 45% chance of passing the first time. This is not something that is made up, but actual statistics that are available all over.

Next issue is if you actually possess a SSN#. If you do not, then you are not going to see your name on their website and will be waiting to receive a letter in the mail from the BRN.
