Hi Sonya777,

First of all, I'm sooo sorry about your results and I do know how you feel. Please give yourself a break to relax:onbch: and sleep and a :tbsk: just to relax you and to give yourself a chance to grieve. I know this hurts but you are strong and you will recover. It's so important to give your self this time to clear your thinking and Sonya to put yourself first for a while. After a week or when you feel ready jump back up on that horse and startt preparing. I will PM you later with some good suggestions because I am giving others guidance as well. Please Pm me if you need to vent. to chat or just need support.:redpinkhe Here is a poem that someone on all nurses gave me. Here it is;

THERE IS NO GROWTH WITHOUT EFFORT.

You grow by responding positively to change.

Growth means change and change involves risks when

stepping from the known to the unknown.

Your strength and growth will come only

through continuous effort and struggle.

All your growth depends on activity.

There is no development without effort.

Trouble is the common denominator of living.

It is the great equalizer.

Your trials, your sorrows and your grief's will develop you.

Whatever good or bad fortune comes your way,

you can always give it meaning

and transform it into something of value.

Wealth is nothing, position is nothing, fame is nothing.

Who you become inside is everything.

What happens is not as important as how you react to what happens.

Thankyou dear...I have only nine days left.I feel like I know nothing now. What to review in the last m0ment any idea?

Here's what helped me pass:

1. Read the blue book from Kaplan (the meds part is optional if you would rather watch the vidoes on Pharm via their website)

2. Alternate between Kaplan Q-Banks and NCLEX 4000 questions.

3. Read the rationales if you can (I got lazy sometimes too but I made sure to read them at some point afterwards.)

4. Take Kaplan Question Trainer 5 & 6 a week before the exam. If you score below 60%, postpone and do some more questions.

5. Do whatever YOU want the day before. I personally still did 130 questions and read my notes the day before but I made sure to stop by 9:00 pm to relax. Then I watched a Golden Girls marathon on tv...Laughter is good for your brain. :D

6. Last but not least, pick a time for the exam that works for you. I personally did better on my practice tests whenever I took them in the afternoon so I scheduled my nclex for a 2:00 pm slot.

hi.im sorry i just read ur msg. i went out of town for vacation,unfortuna8ly,i wasnt able to open my account, almost probably, uve taken the exam,ryt??..im an upcoming junior student nurse, kya dont have the capacity to share ideas about NCLEX and other sources for ur review. all i know, is sufficient reviewers and efficient time management is signicant.

Sorry to hear that you didnt pass this time.... Maybe its the fact that you have it in the back of your mind that you messed up before! I just took mines about 2 weeks ago and I passed on the first try. But OMG, the fear and anxiety I had is unspeakable. I also studied from Saunders Comprehensive, it was GREAT! Thats ALL that I used to study. I'd study just questions, doing quizzes and studying from the CD/disc that comes with it. And then Id switch it up every 3 or 4 days and study from the book by reading a chapter and doing the questions that follow. Id do it on paper, like a test and grade myself at the end and keep track of my score and the date. And if I scored low, I'd go back and redo that chapter in a few days or so. I used to do 2-3 chapters a day. Id keep doing them over and over until I got better and better being careful to pay attention the rationales.

Also, when I used the CD to study, it keeps yours scores and it archives them where you can go back and review what you did wrong on certain tests/quizzes! It was REALLY cool and kind of fun! It took the boredom out of studying, instead of just reading the book all of the time.

GOOD LUCK THOUGH, I KNOW YOU WONT GIVE UP!
