ECPI/MCI LPN Program - anyone?
Well i am a lpn graduate from mci / ecpi va beach campus..... I must admit during the program my classmates and i had a lot of complaints while in the program but when i sit back and look at the experience as a whole. I miss it. I miss the staff, the students, clinical instructors, etc. That is so not true about their nclex pass rate. When i took boards the pass rate was 95%. Everyone in my class of 18 passed except for 2 people. I'd say thats good. When i attended the program was 18 months and it was $25,000. It was "very" demanding as far as curriculum and clinical schedules. I'd say that the staff do the best that they can to accomodate, but they can't please "every" student. When i first got there i got into altercations and butted heads with a lot of teachers there (im "very" outspoken) but i learned to get along with them and vice versa. At first hthey seemed to be rude and not caring enough... But what can you expect from someone who has to teach 20 grown ups with their own habits and attitudes? They are basically no non sense and when you come to class they expect you to put your opinions and attitudes aside and pay attention to what they are teaching. If i didnt answer good enough, send me a message and i'll answer any questions you have. (i also used to work there when i was a student) *hint* feel free to ask ?'s

NCLEX review books/CD???
Sorry to hear that you didnt pass this time.... Maybe its the fact that you have it in the back of your mind that you messed up before! I just took mines about 2 weeks ago and I passed on the first try. But OMG, the fear and anxiety I had is unspeakable. I also studied from Saunders Comprehensive, it was GREAT! Thats ALL that I used to study. I'd study just questions, doing quizzes and studying from the CD/disc that comes with it. And then Id switch it up every 3 or 4 days and study from the book by reading a chapter and doing the questions that follow. Id do it on paper, like a test and grade myself at the end and keep track of my score and the date. And if I scored low, I'd go back and redo that chapter in a few days or so. I used to do 2-3 chapters a day. Id keep doing them over and over until I got better and better being careful to pay attention the rationales. Also, when I used the CD to study, it keeps yours scores and it archives them where you can go back and review what you did wrong on certain tests/quizzes! It was REALLY cool and kind of fun! It took the boredom out of studying, instead of just reading the book all of the time. GOOD LUCK THOUGH, I KNOW YOU WONT GIVE UP!
