The test stops when it is determined that you meet or do not meet the specified minimal competent level. Missing a single question really will not be a significant factor. Provided you answered questions at or above the minimum competent level, you will pass. Sometimes it takes longer or shorter to determine where an individual stands, hence some people answer many questions and others do not.
Check this thread, it may help with your anxiety : https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/pearsonvue-trick-true-374829.html
The test itself decides when it feels youve proven your competence or when it feels feels youve failed. No one can absolutely know why the computer cut off at 205. Otherwise, relax. You cant change your results. Rest knowing you did your best. Hopefully, you will find out soon enough. Good Luck.
Last question will not determined whether you pass or fail, it will determined on your last 60q and if that last 60q were in the above level category, you will pass, but if that last 60Q were in the below level category, you will fail. If I were you, do PVT, it helps loosen your anxiety.... God Bless! Good Luck!

Hi,
I took my NCLEX test today and I stopped at 205..I just realized that I chose the wrong answer on the last question then the test stopped. Is the reason why it stopped after giving the wrong answer is because I failed? Or after giving the wrong answer on the last question, why didnt the test keep going? Im really worried..
Thanks...any feedbacks will help.
