Ok, I took it yesterday. I am slightly annoyed as I studied my tush off for MONTHS, and I got 3 med questions, not a lot on disease processes, NOTHING on pregnancy and i got a a TON of those "alternate format" questions. Mostly the "select all that apply". Needless to say it shut off at 85 and I honestly have no clue how I did. they all seemed difficult, they never had the answer that sets off the lightbulb in your head. Not at all what I expected. I am going to guess that with Christmas Day encroaching on my 48 hour period, that I won't get online results until Friday the 26th. Who knows.....I am just freaking because I can't even guess at a pass or fail. Anyone else have that problem?
hey kgkarma....u mentioned the kaplan qbank questions...thats what i have right now....i purchased it 2 wks ago for $109 and i totally agree with u... i feel like its not that great to me...but of course any way were i can answer a bunch of questions for practice...sure. but because im so used to saunders and how it effectively it is to me in my learning skills....doing kaplan is a 180. i feel like the knowledge i learned from saunders, does not apply in kaplan. for the most part, i would only do 50% well on kaplan, but saunders i do 80-90% well...so i just dont get it, am i confusing myself more and more? should i just stick to saunders only bc it makes sense to me and im scoring better at it? i dont know...my test is feb 2 and im scared and nervous. i study 6-9 hrs a day...and jump from book to book and cd to cd. (bc i purchased so many, i dont want them to go to waste). any tips/advice?? i need help guys...i only have a few wks. thanx
Ichieninii, I had the same experience that you're having with a CD that a friend gave me. If any of the CD's are discouraging you just leave it alone. I tried one of my friend's CD's are was getting in the 50's. I was so discouraged that I rescheduled my exam so when it gets closer to your exam, go back to your Saunders questions because if you're getting 80 to 90% you're ready for the NCLEX.
Saunders questions are much longer and convaluted than NCLEX questions are but the rationals and strategies are much better than any I used. The day before I took my exam I didn't do any questions, had a nice dinner and just cooled out. I went into the exam feeling confident that i was ready even though I'd failed the exam the first time.
