lola...and stillwaiting....I haven't heard back from her either. Everyday I check my mail to see if I received anything. But nothing so far! and its already past the 24th!! I'm really scared and nervous and I really do hope that at least with all this waiting we get a number. if not, then it would suck to know that we waited this long to be rejected. still hoping to hear good news...keep me updated guys. thx

just got an email from her and found out I am on the waitlist. I don't know how to feel. Disappointed to say the least because it wasn't the news I wanted to hear. She said they will notify me by aug 31 IF I am accepted. We'll see =(

To Oakley: Congrats on your acceptance! I am applying for their Nov start date. I am currently waiting to see if i get accepted. I applied earlier this month since they extended the deadline to July 30. I applied through nursingcas, faxed my teas, and sent in all my transcripts. I've been calling the admissions office and leaving messages to see if they've received it but no one answers! its very frustrating...what should I do? should I continue this agonizing wait? I don't want to keep pestering them but I can't help it. What should I do? Any suggestions? pls help

2bjenurse: after scrounging around those links i found the address in small print. i sent in my app and submitted transcript requests from all my colleges to be sent to nursingCAS. (I also sent copies to Touro). next week i am scheduled to take my TEAS so hopefully all goes well, and everything will be sent on time before the deadlines (for fall or spring). i'll keep you updated for the mean time. do you have an email address?

2BJenurse- ok, so i read the FAQ's and read the part where i have to attach a request form to my actual official transcript from my institution. but im still confused as to where i will be asking them to send it to. it says you must mail them to "NursingCAS transcript processing center."....ok where is that? there is no address. am i reading it wrong? er, its very frustrating, gladys isnt answering my phone calls, i just want to get started on this app already.

Thanks so much for replying back. I am in the middle of completing my application via NursingCAS. But what address did you send your transcripts to? I didn't see an address on their website. Also, are you still going to send an application straight to Touro?

hey guys! im so glad I ran into this thread because I am definitely thinking about attending Touro University in Las Vegas. I am from San Jose, Ca and I also have family residing in Las Vegas, so relocating for me wouldn't be a problem. The question I have is, how do I apply right away? I've heard from past threads that their office isn't the best with replying back and so I've emailed them to send me an application. While I'm waiting, should I start sending my transcripts to them? (or is that too early). I'll be studying for my TEAS too because I want to get a better score. I've completed all my prereqs @ SJSU and I've been an LVN for 1.5yrs. I am trying to aim for their Nov BSNstart program but realistically, I don't think that will happen considering the deadline for that is end of June and its already the middle of June. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks =)

unitek college
hi cmami, so from what i understand, you attended unitek's LVN program and from reading your posts, it sounded like a horrible experience. and i can certainly agree to that because i myself attended a horrible private school in san jose, and as you phrased before, everything is self learned. have questions? "look it up!" is what the instructors will tell you...honestly, even though our instructors were bad, clinicals were monotonous, and classes were a waste of time, i still finished it only to take the nclex after graduating. and i feel like, if i have to go through that mess again in a different school, i'll do it only because nowadays, you cant find a really "good" school with teachers who will actually want to help you learn. and right now, i dont want to wait any longer to obtain my RN license. so if i have to sit and go thru the grueling 8months of torture, then ill do it. as long as in the end, i study for the nclexRN and pass, thats all that matters....now the real question is....is the LVN-RN bridge at unitek just as bad? is it more rigorous? i was suppose to go here for my LVN but read so many horrible reviews that i changed my mind, but ended up realizing that the school i went to was just as bad.....thoughts? advice? greatly appreciated

LPN to RN bridge programs in the Bay Area
hello loving very nice...i have a few questions for you about WCC....I am considering that school along with unitek to obtain my RN license. currently i am an LVN, i just passed the boards feb 2009 and im working for 2 agencies at the moment to gain experience. right now, im also enrolled to college network/ISU. but honestly, its hard to start considering im doing this all by myself. i actually miss being in a classroom and the student/teacher interaction. so im thinking of getting out and enrolling to either WCC or unitek. now, i did attended San Jose State to complete all my prereqs, but that was since 2004-2005. its 2009 now and im afraid that it might have expired, and my only fear would be to repeat all those classes again. so im wondering if WCC had an expiration date with those prereq classes and also was it easy to get in and get out? i really want my RN license and would be willing to push through just as long as in the end im done. im 24, and i want to be DONE with school! (however, i will get my bachelors later..much later). my main objective is just to get my RN license. any tips? strategies? advice would be greatly appreciated. thanx!

kaplan qbank pn?
hey to answer ur question about kaplan qbank pn...i think just to be sure...take it one or 2 times before ur exam just to be consistent. i bought the qbank on dec 30 and studied that all the way until it approached my test, which was last monday (2/2). its true about what they say about kaplan, the questions are alot difficult bc u think every single answer is a possiblity (whereas saunders, u can easily eliminate wrong answers). so when i had taken the nclex i didnt think it was "that" hard as what people say it is. but kaplan def helped me alot and at first my scores were low 50's...then towards the end i would get high 60's (using unused only) and i actually finished everything on the kaplan so that there were no unused questions left...so its up to u when u feel ready. goodluck

no pharm and no math question on nclex-pn????????/
no online class for me. i started studying a month and half prior to the exam...studied 6-9 hrs/day (with breaks) and focused ONLY on Saunders q&a and i also purchased kaplan qbank online questions for $109...totally well worth it. questions on the exam are very similar to kaplan. my average for kaplan was 61%, i thought that was bad bc in saunders i would do around 80%. but average people get 50-60% on kaplan and that is considered "passing." during my nursing school, i had already finished the saunders comprehensive, but i didnt want to refer back to that book bc i didnt want to overwhelm myself with so many resources. i also bought the saunders nclex flashcards just in case if im on the go and i have some spare time i can study, theyre directly related to the saunders q&a book though but in a smaller version. oh! and i also finished reading nclex by cliffs test prep. (its the same guys who make cliffnotes) Trust me, when it came down to purchasing books, i bought everything on the shelf! =) i thought if i bought any book out there it'll give me one step closer to passing the nclex. but just stick with kaplan and/or saunders and you'll do fine! goodluck!

no pharm and no math question on nclex-pn????????/
hey sadNblue...how much longer do u have to wait? bc i just took mine today 2/2 and seeing that we both live in ca, we have to wait 2-3 wks....or is it 3-4 wks?? i dont know....theyre both very long. and u know wat? ur test sounds almost exactly like mine...i stopped at 115 got ALOTA infection, delegation, priority, who to room with and stuff..also, a handful of PEDS and only 4-5 SATA, but no math, no hot spots, and no drag and drop...im Xing my fingers too, and its hard to get distracted when the thought of the nclex results are following u...man, wish we coulda taken it in a different state just to see our results right away. neways, goodluck to both of us =)

I took the nclex pn today....
Honestly, i feel numb right now...i know im done and the worse is over...but the waiting is torcher! i live in ca so i have to wait 2-3wks by mail...does anyone know if its true about the size of the envelope? small=pass big=fail?? if so, please let me know so i can chuck the big envelope out the window if i see one..haha jk. Neways, i know i did my best and thats all that matters, i cant turn back time. my test was filled with PEDS!!! which is not a bad thing bc i actually like peds, but i didnt know it would be so overwhelming, each questions back to back was, "A 4mo child...and infant...a newborn...a 13mo child..." Accompaning those i got a few OB and just a small handful of heart diseases and geriatrics. I stopped at 115, got only 5-6 SATA, 3-4 meds, alot of prioritization and infection control. no calculations (which i studied alot of), no drag and drop, no hot spots...geez i almost feel like i studied all the wrong things. anyways, i do have a question about the 85% passing rate. does that only apply if u stop at 85? or if were a first time taker? im kinda confused. when it stopped at 85 my heart was beating so bad bc i knew it could shut off any moment, but no it went on. and i was kind of upset with myself at that time bc i thought the computer thinks i didnt improve much. well, ill definetely keep updating once i get anything through the mail...
