NCLEX-Please explain 85 and shut off

Took my NCLEX today and I too shut off at 85. Does anyone know someone who shut down at 85 and failed?

I have not personally met any person who took NCLEX-PN, had the computer end the exam at 85 questions, and failed. I do know that I had the 85 questions and passed. Good luck, and welcome to the bizarre world of nursing! :)

I am in the same boat as you wondering the same exact thing. I took mine yesterday and it cut off at 85. My best friend took it today and hers cut off at 85 also... I'll pray for the all of us......

Well, i had a classmate that failed it 2 times, once at 85 questions and another with all the questions. She finally passed the 3rd time with 85 questions.

Personally, I has 85 and passed.

I bet you are just fine. I passed with 85 and I don't know of anyone that failed with 85. Let us know when you hear.

well just to let everyone kno i took the nclex last november and had shut down at 86 and failed

I took my NCLEX on June 26th in California. Mine also shut off at 85...but only 35 minutes into the exam. Granted Ive always taken test quickly..but 35 minutes??? Anyway, I called the VN boards this AM and they are working on my test date as I post this (4 whole weeks after the fact) so I should know within 2 days if Ive passed.

Ok, I took my NCLEX today and my test shut off at 86 questions. I hope I passed and I am worried to death about it. Now my classmate, had 148 questions on her test, we get our scores in 2 days. I was told by another nurse who has something to do with these tests, that if your pc shuts off during the 80's portion of the test, that you've passed. I hope so! Wish me luck!
