Hello fellow NCLEX takers ... I wanted to start a chat for everyone taking the NCLEX in October ... let's motivate each other. When you need a pick me upper let's check up on each other. What are you using to prepare for the NCLEX? What date in October are you taking the NCLEX? Are you taking NCLEX PN or NCLEX RN?
I'll start with me. My name is Nadia and I'll be taking the NCLEX PN on October 13th. This will be my fourth time to take the NCLEX ... the last time I took the NCLEX was in 2008. I had to take a required refresher course in Florida in order to be eligible to sit for the exam again ... I did that and also did clinical which I absolutely love because I didn't get the same experience when I was in school. I have been using Saunders, just recently completed the Hurst Live Review (which I absolutely loved) and I will be purchasing U World. I've learned so much in the past year and so motivated to start my career. I do work a full time and I am a Team Lead so I have a hectic day almost every singe day. I have no choice but to make time when I get off to study from 7pm until I get tired and that may be 11 pm or 12 am. If I'm too tired to look at the computer then I'll plug in my headset and listed to the Hurst audio and put it in my long term memory as they call it lol. Hoping to hear from others as I love reading this forum getting different ideas from other fellow nclex takers.
]Hi everyone. I will be taking my NCLEX in October as well. I won't lie I haven't been doing any real studying. I have been faced with a lot of trials lately. But I'm trusting in God that he will see me thru. I do feel like pushing it til November. There is so much going on in my life. That I just don't know what to do.

Hey there, it's ok ... life happens and we have no control over things sometimes that's just his life works ... if you're able to push the date back please do that ... clear your mind and if possible block everything out for about 2-3 hours to study ... I know it's easier than done ... set a schedule and mentally prepare yourself.
Hi everyone! I would like to join your group because I am also preparing for NCLEX- RN and I found that some your advices are very helpful. I've done my nursing degree outside of USA and it's not so easy for me to choose the right book for studying. I have some challenges with pharmacology. What the name of books would you recommend to prepare for pharmacology? I was only reading Saunders 7 edition. Thank you

Hi Tonya,
I'm not using a book specifically for pharm. I'm using Hurst to study and they incorporate pharmacology when reviewing each body system to kind of help it stick ... it does help but there is just too medication to study for so hopefully from what we have reviewed in Hurst and from school will be enough.
