NCLEX medications

I was just wondering how you are studying for medication questions. There are so many and so many aspects of each to remember. I am using the Saunders book and making flashcards, but it seems so overwhelming.

How are you all getting through this??

just study the drugs by class pril is for ace inhibitor.

lol is for beta blockers and so on. i recommend you order mosby's pharmacology memory notecards it covers basic drugs in a simple way and easy to remember the most important info

Most of my medication questions were related to symptoms of toxicity or what is the pathophysiology of the disease related to its use. These were highly synthesized complex questions. You have to know what they're really asking about. Is it the drug or an aspect of the condition it's designed to treat. Count on seeing questions about antipsychotics, potassium, lasix, digoxin. Very common drugs. If you see a wacky drug you've never seen before, it's probably not information about the drug they're seeking, but your knowledge and recognition of the condition.

NJnurse - thanks for posting those meds! I took my NLCEX on the 14th, so I wasn't able to use it, but I did study all of those you listed. I had quite a few medication questions and surprisingly on off-the-wall funky meds I didn't study.

Worked out though - I passed (unofficially). :wink2:
