nclex made incredibly easy

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

hey, how do you guys feel about the springhouse nclex-rn questions and answers book? did anyone use this to study for nclex and pass?

Our nursing school told us that NCLEX changed this year and they made it harder. This scared me even more.

healthstar-the KAPLAN book is on amazon for under $20 and includes changes for the new '10 NCLEX.

Does it really help? Are kaplan books the best for NCLEX? I don't even know which books to buy. I don't want to waste time and money buying books that won't help much. I am okay spending money for books that are worth it. If you say that Kaplan is only $20 that's so cheap. help help :)

The books most recommended by people who are successful are the Saunders Comprehensive Review, the Linda LaCharity book on prioritization, and the Kaplan review book for test taking strategies. Anybody can go to the nursing section in a major bookstore and look over what is available to pick out what looks best to them.

You could also try borrowing from the library to see if you like the books. Our library has an inter-library loan with other libraries in the state. I got the Kaplan 2010-2011 Strategy book that way and used it without buying it. It worked out well for me.

Specializes in Midwifery, surgical nursing.

What else did you use? I borrowed the Kaplan strategies book from the local community college library and am partway through it for the second time. I also bought the Lippincott "Made Incredibly Easy" with 3500 questions which looked good in the store, but after reading the Kaplan I would NOT recommend it because the questions, I think, seem more like nursing school type questions, and, although it seems a good review for content, does not have the same question feel as the kaplan examples. I'm also going through that the second time around, but wonder if I am wasting my time on that one.

It's hard just going to the bookstore and choosing from the many books there because how does one really know what will help? I am going to buy LaCharity as soon as the stores open again because so many people recommend it, but with ten days till my exam, I am feeling kinda freaked out.

Specializes in Step Down.

I also heard Davis's Q&A and Exam Cram is great for question practice. I haven't seen them yet though. I'm working on understanding the content for now since I'm not even done with nursing school yet.

I just have the 3 books that caliotter mentioned so far.
