Hey everyone!
I wanted to start a thread for those taking NCLEX soon, whether this summer or simply sometime this year. I'm actually taking mine within the upcoming week!
**activate panic mode now** haha
I want us to be able to share tips, what we found helpful, what didn't work, and of course once we pass!
I took the Kaplan course and also found it helpful when people shared their scores, so I could relate and feel just as confident in their success. (What else is this website for, but help and comfort during chaos!)
So, my scores have been as follows:
Q bank: 100% complete at 64%
Q Trainer 5: 66
Q Trainer 6: 60
Q Trainer 7: 63
Readiness test: 64
(I did all the q trainers, but the beginning ones multiply times after a month or so, thus scores aren't completely true?)
How is everyone else doing!?
Best of luck; we're almost to finish line!
The Kaplan questions were much harder. I got about 25 to 30 SATA, 2 EKG's, 3 Drag and Drops, 2 charts. I found the SATA to be much simpler than the Kaplan ones.
There are so many difference opinions about the difficulty of NCLEX in comparison to Kaplan. I take my exam on Monday, I'm slightly nervous (trying not to work myself up about it). Is there a SATA resource that you used and found helpful?
Hey Everyone! I have my NCLEX scheduled for 4 days from now and am so completely overwhelmed yet at the same time so done with studying. I have been studying for 7 weeks now about 6-8 hours a day +/- a few hours. I've really only used Kaplan. I've tried a few other books, but didn't really like them as much as Kaplan. Here are my scores:
Diagnostic Test: 51.1
QT1: 50.7
QT2: 66.7
QT3: 53.0
QT4: 66.7
QT5: 61.3
QT6: 70.0
QT7: Will take on Sunday
I am also going to retake the readiness test since I haven't seen the questions/answers since May, but my score in May was 62.8.
Any advice for the weekend studies? I took the "Alternate Format" practice test today and completely bombed it. How should I prepare for SATA?
Thanks in advance and congrats to everyone! :)
Took it 8am this morning, was done by 9:50. 110 questions and I got that beautiful blue screen and have never felt such a relief to see a screen. I started to panic when I went past 75 questions and had to take some deep breaths. Did the PVT and got the good pop-up.
Did you have a lot of priority??? I'm having trouble deciding if I need to study content like disease processes or strategy or.......?????
Hello, I took my nclexrn in May and passed. I attended Kaplan college, so by default I had the Kaplan whole review session/books following. I bombed my alternate format test as well and satas were my weak point. The thing you have to get stuck in your head is to treat those questions like true/false. Also, know your lab values and precautions like the back of your hand. Theres a great ~37 pg study guide out there for nclex tips (search kaplan nclex study guide). Take your time, ask yourself exactly what the question is asking you and you will do great. Good luck to you!!
