nwatson83 - qtrainer and qbank is a special package you buy from kaplan website, either by itself OR as part of the inclassroom package. the questions from the cdrom are nowhere near as good.

good luck everyone

Well - I took the NCLEX RN today at 8 am. I was a nervous wreck. I still am a bit of a wreck.

My scores weren't awesome, and are as follows:

Diagnostic - 60

Qt 1 - 60, QT 2 - 57.3, QT 3 - 53 :(, QT 4 - 52 Double :(. I then started doing my Qbank questions; my scores were all over the place from one 48% to on 72%. My average was 59%, with 87% complete. Then I went to QT 5 - 63%, QT 6 - 62, and QT 7 - 57.3 (the power went out five times and I ended getting really frustrated, so I think that contributed to the low score). I took the readiness exam yesterday morning, 24 hours before my test. I got a 67%.

I went to the test and was freaking out. The questions seemed really hard, a TON of medications I didn't know, as well as place in the correct order, and many SATA. The computer shut off at 75. I felt terrible, defeated, and sure I have failed.

I checked the pearson vue trick and got the "good pop-up". It gives me a little hope, but the next 48 hours will suck.

I will come back to confirm me passing :bored:

Congratulations

Thanks kemifair! Paid for quick results this morning and I did pass! I guess the pop-up really works!

So - if your scores are in the 50's with Kaplan, then don't fret. As you can see, mine were all over the place!

Using Saunders and Kaplan for content review.

Using Saunders for its test bank and averaging 80% on section exams and assessments. I scored 95% on the Hesi exit exam.

what are my chances? I take the NCLEX on the 28th.

I am freaking out that I am majorly slacking on studying for NCLEX-RN!! I take it on Feb. 6th and I've been trying to do at least 50 questions each day.

I took the Kaplan Review Course at the beginning of January. I've listened to all the content lectures online.

My scores:

Kaplan Secure Predictor #1: 62.7%

Diagnostic: 66.7%

Readiness: 60.6%

QT #1: 60%

QT #2: 61.3%

QT #3: 60%

QT #4: 59.3%

QT #5: 60%

QT #6: 67%

I'm waiting until late next week to take QT #7.

I've completed maybe a little over half of my QBank questions with an average so far of 60.76% and a range of 40-80%.

From what I've read on this thread, most of the people with scores similar to my own passed. But I'm still freaking out! I especially hate the SATA questions & I've heard people get a lot of them (but at least that's a higher level question & indicates that you're above the line?).

Took NCLEX today, had 75 questions and the "good" pop up on Pearsonvue. I had so many select all that apply questions.

I used Kaplan and I read the study guide floating around on this site:

https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/nclex-study-guide-622449.html

My Kaplan scores made me nervous, but be calm! I used 450 questions from the Qbank and all 7 trainers, and did the four day class

Scores

QT1 64

QT2 62.7

QT3 57

QT4 56

QT5 62

QT6 56

QT7 57.7

Readiness 62.2

Diagnostic 62.2

Secure Predictor 55

53 percent average on my Q bank

Don't panic! Find your happy place during your test, and my Kaplan teacher said focus on the first 15-20 questions.

Congratulations lady.

It's been a couple weeks, but I wanted to go back to this site and post my scores for Kaplan...

This is in the order I took the exams...

Diagnostic - 56

QT1 - 67

QT2 - 56

QT3 - 60

Readiness - 59

QT4 - 54

QT5 - 53

Q-Bank - 60% Average with 82% complete. I started on q-bank because my Q trainer scores were going down. I started off mostly in the mid 50s to low 60s and ended up in the high 60s to mid 70s.

QT6 - 65

QT7 - 60

I prepared for 5 weeks total, but prepared intensely with Kaplan for 3 weeks. During my last semester of nursing school, I started going over the PDA book by LaCharity. I probably reviewed about 60% of that book and it was very helpful. I used the Saunder's yellow book throughout nursing school and started reading it the last semester of nursing school, but I did not get far. I read the entire E-book for the Kaplan course. I watched the online videos in areas I was weak in. Before I started the Kaplan course, I reviewed ECG rhythms through this online ECG Simulator that I found. ECG Simulator | SkillStat Learning - Fast, Fun and Effective! It was very helpful because I had 5-6 questions that involved rhythms.

I passed the NCLEX-RN with about 78-80 questions. After questione 75 I stopped counting and it shut off so unexpectedly. I had 8-9 SATA, 1 ordered response, only 1 med calc question, about 6 med questions in all, one chart question, and one "point to where this is" question. I had a whole bunch of prioritization and delegation questions and as I mentioned, 5-6 questions involving heart rhythms. NCLEX is set up just like Kaplan and the questions are much more straightforward.
