NCLEX June 2018

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey all! First off, congrats to everyone who graduated this year (and those who graduated in any previous year)!!! My day was May 11th, and it still feels so surreal. Also unreal. Probably because I'm busting my butt studying for this crazy NCLEX thing that's looming on the horizon! In that regard, it feels like nothing has changed haha.

I scheduled my NCLEX for mid-June, because everything else that was available felt too late or too early, and I'm still feeling skeptical about the day I chose. But it's definitely motivated me to keep a decent study schedule going. And if anything, like if I feel super unprepared, I can always reschedule to a later date, but I'm trying to avoid this. I've been using UWorld, trying to do at least 50 questions a day, and then doing questions/reviewing Saunders on 3 specific systems a day, just to brush up on it. I also plan to start utilizing Mark Klimek's audios when I find time to sit and listen. The week before the NCLEX, once my review of systems is (hopefully) complete, I will do at least 150 questions a day. Then, like many others, I will not study at all the day before the exam, and Monday, June 11th is the big day!

That being said, I saw a bunch of other threads for people who were taking the NCLEX during a specific month, so I thought I'd go ahead and do the same for the month of June! I like the idea of us building each other up, supporting each, crying to each other, offering insight or advice or tips that we may know... the list goes on. Anybody taking the NCLEX in the month of June, or even early July? Anybody freaking out like me??? "RN" is so close I can almost taste it! Ahhhhhh!

NCLEX today.. started at 0745...walked out at 0900.... 75 questions.. tried the pearsonvue trick as soon as I got the email from pearsonvue about after the NCLEX.. got the pop up "our records indicate you have recently scheduled this exam, another exam cannot be scheduled.."...fingers crossed

Girl same, but I can't shake the feeling that I bombed that sucker and they just put me out of my misery at 75 questions.

How did you do today?6/4

I just took my NCLEX-RN today (6/5) and it stopped in 75. I did the PVT and got the good pop up. I felt like I passed. I got 15-20 SATA, 1 EKG and the rest were MC. I used Uworld only and finished about 1800. Now the wait begins.

how were your scores on uworld? also did you notice alot of priority questions?

I started out in the low 50s and worked my way up to high 60s and some 70s. I was in the 76th percentile. I had one self assessment exam and made a 76% on it. I was in the 96th percentile and had a "very high chance" of passing. As far as nclex, there were priority questions and who would you see first questions. Lots of meds for me too.

wow thanks for your insight definitely helpful

Hello All...I tested yesterday (06/04/2018) I did not do the PVT trick I was too nervous. This morning I received an email from the BON in my state that was notifying me of the results of my NCLEX. I even called the State Board to confirm my passing they provided me with my license #; that further confirmed for sure I PASSED! I PASSED NCLEX I am over excited; first try is a charm. I am so proud of myself. I had 85 questions. I AM a Licensed Practical Nurse.

I wish everyone else the best.

Took my test today (6/5) too. Stopped at 75 questions and finished in 2 hours. Got the good pop-up when I check a couple hours later. 28 SATA, one EKG, and one sequencing question. No math, no hotspots, no exhibits, no audio. I used UWorld and the Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment book (LaCharity). I took a mock NCLEX exam with UWorld last night (the night before the exam), 75 Qs w/ tutor mode OFF, and I got a 64%. My official practice exam that I also had on UWorld said I had a "Very high chance of passing" (I got a 71% on that one.) Many "if the nurse from floor x was floated to floor y, which pt assignment should the nurse get?" questions. MANY PRIORITY Qs!!! The PDA book saved me!! I did awful on every section in the book, my highest score I think being a 70%. & My total average for the completed 1200 UWorld Qs was a 59%. And I will say what everyone else has been saying, for the people in the back: PERCENTAGES. DON'T. MATTER. The rationals do!!! I felt confident while taking the NCLEX because I took the time to read the rationals on UWorld and in the PDA book. And guys.. you'll be surprised at how much your brain remembers just by reading them.

I took my NCLEX today. I had 75 questions and was finished in about an hour. I didn't have much SATA, only about 7 or so. I had 2 'put in order' (one of which I had never even heard of so I tried to make it make as best sense as possible), 2 math, a few meds, and LOTS of teaching/communication and 'who to see first.' I tried the PVT and I got the GOOD popup! I'm surprised because I didn't think I was getting your typical 'hard' and 'passing' type of test questions that everyone here seems to say they get when they've passed in 75 questions.

My school made us use Kaplan. We had to do the entire Q Bank, Question Trainers, Sample Tests, Readiness Test 48 hours before boards, and had a 3-day live class about the decision tree. I personally used U World (The one with the 2 assessments [i did 1 before even starting my Q Bank and the 2nd 3 days before NCLEX] and the Q Bank [have about 1000 left]) and the NCSBN 3-week course just to make sense of information and content that I felt was conflicting between study aids/school, like scopes of practice and lab values.

I think Kaplan could help as far as how to pick an answer when the question is really random, and U World was good for content/rationales, but honestly my test was so much teaching and communication, no 'who to see first' was super obvious either, it was almost like a crapshoot when it came to content.

My Kaplan Scores: Q Bank and Question Trainers averaged in the 60s, Predictors A & B 70, Readiness Test 69 with a goal of 61

My U World Scores: Assessment 1 was something like 60th percentile (can't really remember) with High chance of passing, Q Bank was 94th percentile, Assessment 2 was 96th percentile with Very High chance of passing

Grades in school were A's and B's, worked full time 1st year, part time 1/2 of my 2nd year and PRN my last semester, took NCLEX about a month after graduation. I did quite a bit of content review of where I was weak, and I'm very glad I did since my exam, like I said, was so. much. teaching.

should i focus more on priority and delegation? seems like there isn't much on content

Hello all,

I wanted to share my NCLEX experience. I took the NCLEX today at 2pm. I left the test feeling very confident that I passed. The test shut off at 75 questions. I had 15 SATA and 4 drag and drop. I felt that the test was easier than I expected, but still had some tricky questions. I am so nervous to get my results. I hope that I passed. I will post my results when I get them. I hope that the test shutting off at 75 and feeling that I passed is a good sign. I thought I would leave crying, but for some reason I feel good about it. Good luck everyone. This site has helped me so much, that I had to post my experience for others like me
