NCLEX June 2018

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey all! First off, congrats to everyone who graduated this year (and those who graduated in any previous year)!!! My day was May 11th, and it still feels so surreal. Also unreal. Probably because I'm busting my butt studying for this crazy NCLEX thing that's looming on the horizon! In that regard, it feels like nothing has changed haha.

I scheduled my NCLEX for mid-June, because everything else that was available felt too late or too early, and I'm still feeling skeptical about the day I chose. But it's definitely motivated me to keep a decent study schedule going. And if anything, like if I feel super unprepared, I can always reschedule to a later date, but I'm trying to avoid this. I've been using UWorld, trying to do at least 50 questions a day, and then doing questions/reviewing Saunders on 3 specific systems a day, just to brush up on it. I also plan to start utilizing Mark Klimek's audios when I find time to sit and listen. The week before the NCLEX, once my review of systems is (hopefully) complete, I will do at least 150 questions a day. Then, like many others, I will not study at all the day before the exam, and Monday, June 11th is the big day!

That being said, I saw a bunch of other threads for people who were taking the NCLEX during a specific month, so I thought I'd go ahead and do the same for the month of June! I like the idea of us building each other up, supporting each, crying to each other, offering insight or advice or tips that we may know... the list goes on. Anybody taking the NCLEX in the month of June, or even early July? Anybody freaking out like me??? "RN" is so close I can almost taste it! Ahhhhhh!

congrates! how was it? did you use uworld to study?

Well I just took it today... did the PVT and got good pop up so far... did not feel confident at all. There's really no good way to study for this test. The stuff that was thrown at me was off the wall and I felt like I guessed on most questions.

I'm scheduled to take my NCLEX-PN on 6/26/18 at 1400. I've been using ATI, Saunders, and UWORLD(in the 76% there) but I'm very nervous. I don't even know where to start with content review. I feel discouraged and so I just keep studying.

Took my exam at 8am in MI, finished in 75 and got results at 4pm this afternoon that I passed!! So relieved and thrilled, oh and also impressed with Michigans fast response time!!

I took my NCLEX today at 9am. My exam finished in 75questions and it took me about an hour to finish. I had 20 SATA,6 priority questions, a couple of delegation questions, and a couple of teaching/evaluation questions (needs more following up, shows correct understanding, etc). I did the Pearson Vue trick as soon as I got the email. So far I got the good pop up. Now I wait 48hours for my unofficial results. Fingers crossed !!

My license posted on the board of nursing website so it appears that I PASSED!

Thank you! My school had us use Kaplan as part of our program, but independently I chose UWorld and I also purchased the 3-week review from NCSBN since they write the NCLEX. My requirements for school were to do all of the Q-Bank in Kaplan (averaged mid 60s), all the question trainers (averaged mid 60s), all 4 sample tests (averaged 60s), the diagnostic (I got 63%), the 2 predictors (got 70 & 71), and the readiness test (got 69). With UWorld I chose the one that had the Q-Bank and 2 assessments. I took the first assessment before starting using UWorld and got somewhere in the 50th or 60th percentiles with a High chance of passing. Did the Q-Bank and averaged in the 94th percentile with 1,000 questions leftover, did the second assessment 3 days before NCLEX and got 96th percentile with Very High chance of passing. I got the NCSBN just so I could verify information that I felt conflicted between sources, like scopes of practice for LPN/UAP, blood administration (esp. times), and lab values. I made A's and B's in school.

The test itself, I felt like there were times where they didn't give me enough information. In my priority questions, no one seemed to stand out. And I didn't always choose "airway" as the answer. A lot of mine was teaching and priority. I only had about 7 SATA, I had 2 put in order, and 2 math. Maybe about 5 medicines or so, 1 I had literally never heard of so just guessed as best as possible. My number one tip is don't get discouraged (like I did) while you're taking it, thinking you're getting what people say aren't "passing level" questions. I thought I was getting all content (which is kind of the truth when you're being asked about teaching) so I thought I was failing the whole time. People *think* they know all about NCLEX but they really only kind of know about it, what NCLEX considers passing or failing questions. Because mine was created with so much teaching/priority/content, I can't say anything specific stood out as far as helping the best except for doing well in school, though NCLEX looks exactly like UWorld. I wish I could though. Everyone else I've talked to from school says they felt like UWorld helped with content and understanding why a question wanted a certain answer, whereas Kaplan helped them narrow down choices when they didn't have any clue.

I take the NCLEX on June 12th. I am so nervous and I wish I felt more confident. My school used ATI and I've been using that and the NCLEX Mastery App on my phone. I did well in school and took two predictor exams and scored in the 99% probability of passing. I hope I pass as I have a job waiting for me...

Hey all and wishing the best to you on your exams. I just recently paid for my second attempt again and am currently waiting for ATT. I have been studying consistently through these last two weeks and I'm feeling pretty okay. I AM A NURSE! I've been using the study guide that was provided on here. I've also been using the Saunders Pn book , along with the CD Saunders Cd w/ 4000 questions. I've been doing anywhere between 60-100 a day, and use the Saunders book as a reference while doing questions. I'm thinking about Incorporating the summit videos in my study plan, just don't know am I really gonna sit and wanna watch that. But I guess it's like just being back in class so what's the difference haha!

I graduated May 11th! Sitting for NCLEX June 11th! It keeps getting closer & closer & I'm getting so nervous! I've been doing UWorld for the past 3 months. Finished my incorrect questions today! Now will be looking over some final notes. I know I'll never feel ready! Keep me in your prayers!!! Good luck to everyone!

I will take mine next week I`m freaking out ahhhhhh
