The thread for those testing in June has been very helpful, so I thought I would start one for July. I'm in Virginia and graduated May 15th; finally got my ATT yesterday. The testing centers here are booked well into July here so I'm not scheduled until July 9th
I'm using Kaplan, Saunders and the NCLEX Mastery app on my phone. I can't wait until this is over!
I just took the exam today (7/3) and am dying for results, as everyone does. Truthfully, don't feel great about it at all but at least I'm closer to knowing! Key is to taking your time and don't let the amount of questions you get rattle you. I got the full 265 when I was sure after it began that I'd be done around 75. Feeling good during the beginning wasn't a great estimator for me. Try to not think of the number you're answering and just breathe! Luckily Colorado has quick results so I can figure it out Thursday!
Officially passed! Definitely take the day before off to relax and don't overthink the questions. I used kaplan and their questions were definitely more difficult. Once I was reading the actual nclex questions it was straight forward and not as confusing. Kaplan was great to study and I would use it again in a heartbeat.
Hi, I am taking mine this month too, using Kaplan as well.what was your average score though for Kaplan.
I completed all the QT (1-3 are non-passing, so don't go off of these scores).
QT 4 - 65
QT 5 - 66
QT 6 - 68
QT 7 - 66
Readiness test - 70
I also completed 17 75 question QBanks. My scores averaged mid to high 60s, and low 70s. I recommend making an Excel spreadsheet and after each exam putting the scores you got for each individual section. I marked anything under a 60 as red, 60s as yellow, and 70 or higher as green. This helped me identify any particular areas that I wasn't as strong in and I did a quick 15 or so tutor style practice questions in that area.
I would also say that the NCLEX style is much closer to the readniess test style. It was less wordy, more straight forward and not trying to trick you as much. I thought that kaplan prepared me excellently and the questions were much harder than the actual NCLEX. If you're doing well on kaplan, you'll sit for nclex and find it's significantly easier :)
