nclex in hongkong or saipan?

Published

hi! im a newbie here. i already passed my cg and ielts and will be taking my nclex either in september or october since i already have my ATT. i applied in new mexico. but at the moment, i havent decided yet where to take my nclex. will it be in hongkong or saipan? if in saipan, basically a new place for me, i dont need to shell out an additional of $150 and i heard in saipan, nclex quesions are much easier to answer??? while in hkng, i feel safer since i was able to go there once. but the $150 is another cost to shouder.

should i decide to take it in hongkong, is there any modest hotel near Grand Millenium Plaza? would you know the current hotel rates?

if in saipan. is there any hotel near the testing site? how much is the accomodation???

thank you so much in advance!

questions are the same in all testing center..

To put another rumor to rest, the test is not easier in one state over another, nor easier in one country to write it over another.

It is a national exam, and could care less about where you are or for which state. The questions get asked based on how you answered the questions before, therefore, the exams are going to be different for each nurse that is taking it in the same room.

You base your choice on where you can actually get a spot to take it in.

Hong Kong has minimum of a two month wait, so unless there is a cancellation at the last minute, your chance of taking it there is quite slim.

I suggest that you focus on where you can even test. Saipan actually only has a few seats per day, and they fill up fast as well. So you may want to consider another country as well. Seoul is available, as well as Taiwan. and even Japan.

if you're in the phils., contact micronesia airlines makati office for its nclex travel package to saipan for nurses. ask for the requirements and the procedure for the visitor's entry permit to saipan. the preferred hotel is saipan ocean view hotel which is right across the test center. the gold beach hotel is not very near to the test center.

if you prefer hongkong, you can try this: http://cebupacificair.com/funtours/funtastichongkong.html

or you can look for a travel agency that can give you a good deal to stay in central park hotel (5 minutes walk to test center) via PAL or cebu pacific air. an option is lan kwai fong hotel (newest, also near to the test center, higher rate).

check this: http://www.asiatravel.com/hongkong.html

The reason why many examiners prefer HK is that they can do some sightseeing or a little bit of shopping afterwards and it doesn't cost too much plus usually the airfare for Saipan/Guam plus the hotels there are a little bit more costly compared to HK (esp. if its not peak season) so the extra $150 for the International fee would be negligible.

Another testing site that you would like to consider is Taiwan.

There's also Japan, South Korea, Australia just for FYI. But going to those 3 are already a little bit expensive.

hi! thanks for the clarification. i still got some questions here, if you may.

1) do i really need to call pearson for the appointment? or can i just email them? i want to save money on international calls. all my exams and reviews-cg and ielts and now nclex- are all in my own initiative and the cost is too much to bear. so a penny to keep is a big thing for me.

2) would you know if they have a testing site in middle east? anywhere near saudi arabia? it can be an option for me since i have a visa in saudi.

guess, i really need to act soon. a big sigh for me! my confidence level at this time is 10-15% only. my hand is so full with lots of things. i cant focus so well in my review.

but hei, thanks. this site is so cool. it is so helpful. moderators are all supportive and very reliable. members too are generous to share themselves---they spend timing replying and helping out other people of what they know and what they have experienced. just great! thanks to all!

shopping is inevitable! especially to girls. hehehe! will study my options--- and my budget too.

thank you for replying. till next time.

yes you need to call. if your going to take the exam at international testng center (HK,Taiwan, Korea etc..) you need to call the NCLEX CANDIDATE SERVICES to schedule your appointment for exam (see the numbers on pearsonvue's site). but if your going to take the exam in US territories, you can schedule your exam through the pearsonvue's website using your pearsonvue account.

you can use PLDT budget cards..to save money for your calls..;)

no testing site in saudi. go to their website http://www.pearsonvue.com/nclex to know the different testing centers administering the exam.
