nclex in hongkong or saipan?

Published

hi! im a newbie here. i already passed my cg and ielts and will be taking my nclex either in september or october since i already have my ATT. i applied in new mexico. but at the moment, i havent decided yet where to take my nclex. will it be in hongkong or saipan? if in saipan, basically a new place for me, i dont need to shell out an additional of $150 and i heard in saipan, nclex quesions are much easier to answer??? while in hkng, i feel safer since i was able to go there once. but the $150 is another cost to shouder.

should i decide to take it in hongkong, is there any modest hotel near Grand Millenium Plaza? would you know the current hotel rates?

if in saipan. is there any hotel near the testing site? how much is the accomodation???

thank you so much in advance!

hello there,

I'm planning to take an NCLEX-RN exam in SAIPAN, and my travel agency advise me to get a Visitors Entry Permit(VEF), just want to ask what are the requirements/procedure for that...

Thanks and Gob Bless!

:kiss

I would really advice you to take it in HK if you are not in a hurry. Yes, there would be an extra $150 fee but the affordability of flights and accomodations to HK negates that. You will end up paying at least the same or even cheaper if your gonna take it in HK rather than in Saipan. You can do some sightseeing and a little bit of vacation too afterwards. Just my opinion. :wink2:

Here is the information for the Visitor Entry Permit for Saipan:

Note: Nationals of The Philippines always require a National Bureau Investigation (NBI) for the processing of a Visitor Entry Permit.

Hope that helps.

plus the ATT.

contact continental airlines office in makati or cebu for a travel package for nurses going to take the nclex in saipan. no need for a travel agency.

direct flights are usually twice a week from manila to saipan. other flights are via guam and passengers change planes (smaller aircraft between guam and saipan).

with higher air fare and hotel rates during peak season in hk (and with additional $150 int'l test fee in hk), the travel package to saipan can be considered as a reasonable option for those who are interested.

thanks for all the info :wink2:

question:

1. Do you need to get a visa if you apply in SAIPAN and Taiwan?

2. Can I check first the testing center if there are any availbale slots left before I register in pearson?

Because I applied in New mexico and you have to take the test within 3 months if you register in pearson already and my sister applied 2 weeks ago in HOngkong and the only avaliable slot is DECEMBER 25. :p And I would like to take the exam on January so I am guessing right now HOngkong is filling up January. So my choice now is SAIPAN OR TAIWAN.

1. for saipan, Filipinos need either a multiple entry US visa or a visitor's entry permit (link was given above). for taiwan, visa is also required:

2. you need to have an ATT before you can check the schedule.

don't worry about the schedule in hk, it changes after every few minutes. but, the advice is to set a date/appointment right after you receive your ATT and you can just do the changes when slots open anytime.

i hope this helps.
