if you feel bad then congrats ,the chances are great you passed:)

What makes you say the test wasn't fair? I take it you are talking about the NCLEX?

The way it has been explained to me is that the test is based on "the perfect world senerios. They test you with the thought that you always have enough... staff, supplies, a Doc is always just around the next hall.

I have always thought the tests in Nursing school were unrealistic, and had a tough time pulling myself out of the real world and into theirs. I have not taken the NCLEX yet but have sat through the NCLEX review and am also scheduled to take Kaplin next month. All these classes do is teach you how to take the test, it is not really knowledge based. I wish they had questions like: Mr H comes to the ED via EMS, he is combative, refusing care, and swearing at the staff. He is pouring blood out of every oriface in his body, you have no help from any staff member since they too are busy, there are no beds left to put him on, all the linen is dirty, so you have nothing to sop up the blood, all the restraints are on back order. What should you do FIRST?

This is knowledge I need to know. Maybe this is what the OP meant when stating that the test is not fair.

LOL, RN Kitty!

I'm sorry you had such a terrible test experience. Hopefully, like the others said, it means you passed with flying colors. :)

:::hugs::: I know how you feel! Some of the topics I had on my exam we never even covered in school or if the topic was covered in school, the information they covered didn't pertain to the questions I had. If I have to take this test again, I can't say there is anything I could do differently (except retake nursing school???? LOL) because the fact of the matter is, I have no idea what topics I'll end up with and even if I did know, chances are it will cover material or information I've never learned. Most frustrating experience of my life! There's a lot of us who feel the same way you do and we're all still waiting to find out what's going on. I'm going on 3 weeks now of not knowing anything and the BRN is less than helpful at this point. Called my school and was told that they sent my transcripts out on the June 4th (20 days before I even took my exam!), but the BRN is telling me that they aren't sure if they received my transcripts and will get back to me in 5 days!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: EXACTLY!!!! Well I didnt pass but I feel a little better about it. Maybe the shopping spree my husband took me on helped a bit :p I am buying a Lippencott on Fri and brushin myself off to do it again the end of August!! I was in disbelief at first thought this was the first test I have ever seen failed on! And I have taken my Canadian RN & LPN already but they were on paper and I know I should have rechecked a few answers before clicking next. All the:scrying: is out and I feel better. I really want to move to Florida but as hubby says "dont think of the test as Life or death just aas something to do in the meantime." But having this board has really helped me to understand what others have gone through as well and gives me support to do it again!!!

:chuckle

I work in the ER ans an RN-IP, took Kaplan review that ended on June 18th and then took the NCLEX on Monday July 13th. I stopped at 75, I'm not certain if I passed. Kaplan helped me with stratagies so I'm okay with that.

Thats great that you're keeping a positive attitude. At least this time around you will know what you are in for. Good luck in August!

Keep up that positive attitude! I like to look at it as the "test failed me" not the other way around! LOL I think there's definitely some truth to that. Anyways, look in to the NCSBN course. I've seen questions from the course posted at this other NCLEX message board website and they remind me a lot of what was on the NCLEX.

:)
