Virtual ATI Comprehensive Predictor for NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

Updated:   Published

Hello all! Just wanting some feedback, encouragement, and advice. My school is big into ATI. I took the ATI Comprehensive predictor beginning April and got 95% predictability to pass NCLEX on my first try. When I took it the week of graduation beginning of May I got a 97% predictability of passing NCLEX on my first try. I began Virtual ATI shortly after graduation and scheduled my NCLEX for June 18. I took the predictor on June 6 and got a 62% predictability of passing NCLEX on my first try. So I remediated and changed my date to the June 25 so I could retake the predictor (which you must wait 2 weeks between each predictor). I just retook it and got a 78% predictability of passing on my first try. I am quite discouraged at this point. I am not sure how I did so well in April and May and then have my scores go down so much. I am supposed to begin a job in July, so I am nervous about taking the test any later than what I have now, however I can't begin my job without a license. What do you think I should do? Keep my date or change it?

Thank you in advance for any advice, words of encouragement, and prayers.

Well, I ended up not changing my date. Any words of encouragement? I could use some right now. I found out yesterday that I lost my job offer because I did not pass the strength test, however they are encouraging me to reapply. It is certainly discouraging to hear just 2 days before my exam.

Hi hjh10! I'm having the EXACT same issue with Virtual ATI. My school requires us to get the 'green light' from ATI before we can take our NCLEX-RN. Here's my story: Graduated in May and took the comp predictor right before graduation and scored at a 90% chance of passing NCLEX on first try. I started Virtual ATI, studied all of the modules and passed the assessments. I then took a stab at passing the comp predictor again in order to gain the 'green light' and my score decreased to 76% chance of passing NCLEX on first try . I was extremely depressed and did not understand how THE HECK THAT COULD EVEN HAPPEN! Waited the long two weeks, studied my butt off and took it again only to get 86%. I'm waiting the two weeks YET AGAIN and will take the comp predictor AGAIN this Friday. SO FRUSTRATING!!! Here's my theory: the ATI comp predictor we took at the end of nursing school was different from the one we take after completing Virtual ATI- WAY HARDER. I think this is because ATI wants to uphold their "97% pass rates for first time test-takers after completing ATI" statistic. I could be wrong but this seems to be the case. Also, the comp predictor done in Virtual ATI has been the same exact test the two times I have taken it but it had different (easier) questions on the 'comp predictor' I took before graduation. :sarcastic:

I have lost my confidence in Virtual ATI and once I get the 'green light' I plan on paying the $300 for Kaplan's qbank. I just don't feel that Virtual ATI is consistent and they do not have a big enough test bank.

Just know that you are not alone in this. We will pass this NCLEX beast and put it all behind us! Good luck to you and let me know if you have anymore questions. It's nice to hear that others are doing Virtual ATI because all I hear about on this website is Kaplan and Hurst.

:)

75 questions and the good pop up. Praying

Congratulations, RN!!!!!!! This gives me so much hope with ATI! Now go out and celebrate!!!

My advice that others told me: practice comprehensive tests are not the NCLEX! Focus on rationales, not on scores. I am so happy I did not push back my test any further. And most importantly, PRAY! I felt complete peace leaving the testing center because I prayed so much before and during the exam. YOU CAN DO IT!

ATI is harder than the actual NCLEX. Do it and you wont regret it.

My school is also big on ATI. I took the 2011 predictor and got 96% and 92% on the 2014 predictor.....But i know that i still have to study.... I paln on using ATI also. Congratulations!!

I too am doing VATI... I graduated August 15th and am due to take my Virtual ATI Comp predictor this weekend... I have my NCLEX scheduled for Sept 25 (3 weeks away!!!) and really DO NOT want to change it. I received a 98% pass rate on first try for both ATI tests we took in school and this post is scaring me lol. If I take it now, I will have the chance to remediate once and I'm hoping I'll get the green light. I start my new job on sept 8th and have a temporary license, so I'm okay for now. If I take the NCLEX and fail, I will lose my job :( I just feel like the longer I wait after graduation, the worse my passing chances are... Any other VATI "no green light, but still passed NCLEX" success stories???

Along with myself, there were a few others in my class that did not get the green light. Some did not even do VATI. They all passed. Take practice tests, but don't focus so much on scores; focus on rationales. And pray! Good luck to you! Congratulations on graduating and on your job!

I got 97% chance of passing on first try (think my score was somewhere in the 70's) on my first predictor and I'm gonna take my second one later this week - the first was before the live review. The live review was okay, but I was still in the thick of school and finals so it was a bit hard to pay attention (I ended up going from failing to getting an A in that class, so I guess it was worth it). Trying to not let that first number go to my head, committing to at least 2 hours of reading a day and 80-100 questions/day, hoping that will be enough (using Saunders and taking Kaplan, adding PDA book as well) - worrying that I'm not doing enough... I don't know if ATI is sticking :(

Hello Everyone!!

I am traking my ati comprehensive predictor on Wednesday and I am so nervous.I took the hesi exam and failed with a 850.Its passing for the hesi but my school requires a 900.This time around I am taking the ati 2014 exit. Any pointers on what i should focus on.I am required to pass with a 70% in order for them to send my paper work to the board of nursing so I can test for the nclex..

Please Help!!!
