Took NCLEX-RN today, stopped at 265

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi all, this was my second time taking the NCLEX and my first time stopping at 265. I had lots of SATAS probably 10+, 4 drag and drops, 5-6 calculations (i'm sure I got those wrong lol), ALOT OF infection control, and lots of "the nurse will follow up.." questions, I pretty much think I had every type of question style/format and topic the NCLEX had to offer lol. I even used up all 6 hours with 5 min remaining on my last question...it was very grueling :sniff: and i'm also not sure if I got the last question right, so that kinda bugs me. Anyways, I honestly have to say that I did feel better than I did taking it the first time, but that's probably not saying much. Just out of curiousity and relief, has anyone had the same experience and result as me and have PASSED?

I've also heard that if you stop at 265 and finish before 6 hours, the computer counts the only last question if you got it right or wrong & that will determine pass/failure or something about the computer counting the last 60 questions getting more right than wrong will determine pass/failure, can anyone clarify or confirm this?

Thanks much in advance, Good luck to all future test takers and retaker's!

Wishing you good luck.

If you completed 265 questions and didn't run out of time then it looks at the whole test and decides pass or fail, has nothing to do with getting last question right or wrong. It will only look at the last 60 questions if you run out of time

Good luck you still have a chance on passing it is just so hard to predict

I took mine today too. I had 75 questions. I sure hope I passed, but I feel like I bombed it. Felt like I knew nothing!

I wish everyone luck that took the nclex today including my self lol. I had 85 questions and think i knew on 5 questions. I'm so traumatised about whole nclex situation:cry:.

power22,

I feel your pain; I feel pretty shook up about it; I left there wondering why I wasn't getting any questions that I studied and questions that I knew nothing about. I felt like at about questions 55-65 or so I was doing okay, and hoping that it wouldn't shut off at 75 so I could keep getting more questions and prove I could do the higher level questions, but it did shut off at 75 and an easy question that i thought at the time, a drag and drop. then i start to wonder, i think i got that last question wrong after all. it was just weird how i felt like i was getting some priority questions then all of a sudden a drag and drop and then it shut off. tortore, i tell ya. i tried the pearson vue trick and it hasn't let me re-register, so i am praying, praying, praying.

can't think of anything else...

I can't sleep. I just looked on pearson vue - no exam results available. I have been eating like a pig today (stress eating). It is the worst feeling in the world. Good Luck to everyone on here.

hello everyone - thank you for all your well-wishing for my exam. i passed!!!!

i looked on my state board of nursing site for the license verification - and there was my name with my license number!!!

:jester: i am ready to p a r t y !!!:jester:

lisa

btw i did a kaplan course in january - i would reccommend just doing the online component with the book - don't need the class as it is all online.

and i went thru the saunders book and practice questions. i think the kaplan was better for teaching me how to look at the questions and discern the right answer even if i had not known everything. i think the saunders was better at teaching the actual content (review). the online study questions saunders has is excellent and really helped.

god bless you all and best of luck!
