That was the hardest thing I have ever taken....

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Well I just got back from taken the NCLEX-RN and I feel terrible to say the least. I had no idea it would be that hard. It shut off at 105 questions. I had like 15 medication questions and I had not heard of most of them. How can you pick an answer if you have no clue on the med? It stinks when you have to guess between 4 answers with no clue and I feel like I had to do that alot. I had some diseases that I never heard of as well...did the same thing guess. I was 99% sure of 3 answers out of 105 and that is not good at all.

My question for all who have taken the test...I was in the higher level of questions or I am just clueless?

I feel that the test was mostly meds, priority and a few team management questions. Hardly no peds, no ABB ( I was shocked at that), maybe 4 psych, No cardiac. I am telling you I must have failed b/c nothing I know was on the stupid test!

To those who have failed...Did you know you failed and just hoped for the best? I am trying to stay optomistic but it is hard when all I can say is I can't believe I did that terrible.

As you can see my brain is mush!

Thanks for everyone's responses. I realized yesterday that I was not going to sit around and wait for the results so I took my kids out ALL day and I have to say it really helped. I find out today sometime after 5:45 PM so I will keep everyone posted. I did do my best so I will just have to wait and see. Thanks!

If I may ask, where do you reside? Are you in California? You took the nclex on the 9th, as well...right? I took it on the 9th...and i'm trying my best to stay calm. I keep trying to remember some of the questions on my exam, and, i realized some of the ones i answered wrong, and i wish i can turn back time to change some of my answers. but, now it's just a matter of time, to wait and find out what the results will be. you mentioned in your last thread that you will be finding out sometime after 5:45pm today...good luck! i hope and pray that you passed! :)

Hi,

I live in NJ but took the NCLEX in NYC on the 9th. I know how you feel. Everytime I remember a question I look it up. So far, I have remembered only 4, but I got 3 of them incorrect so I hope that is not the norm for the rest of the test! Are you finding out today as well? I hope we both passed. I would never wish for anyone to have to retake this horrible test again! I just hope I don't have to!

I live in CA...so, unfortunately, we don't have the option for "quick results". I wish we did...because i REALLY would like to know my results! When I logged on pearson, it said "delivery successful"...so, that means, they did their part and the state board has my results. it's just a matter of time, as to when they will process everything...and let me know if i passed, or, failed. ahhhhhh...this is torture!! i wish i could find out already.

That's terrible. You would think in this day and age that every state would participate in the quick results and it sucks that yours does not. I tried to check my state BON website but my name did not show up. I hope that is not a bad sign. I don't think they update it everyday, though.

I know, it's terrible! All states should participate in the quick results. Well, just like you, I have been logging on the BON website, and I am checking it continuously...almost as if i have become obsessive-compulsive awaiting for the results. as if it is updated every hour (which it is not)....from what i heard, they say the BON website is updated daily (monday-friday)...i assume they update by the end of each working day, so that the results will be posted. It's complete torture not knowing, and the fear of it all...it's like, did i pass? or did i fail? So, you and I are both in the same boat. We both took the exam on the 9th, correct. So, the clock is ticking...at least, it's good to know and be able to share our experiences. it helps to vent!

BEST WISHES!! thanks for posting...it really helps to read everyone's posts, in order to alleviate somewhat of the anxious feelings running through my veins! take care...and, CONGRATS, again!!!!

I know the feeling of failing the nclex cuz I failed w/265 questions. I had so many peds questions which is my weakness. It is truly funny cuz one of my classmate study the whole kaplan book one wk prior to her exam and passed. How lucky is she. I studied a lot and I think no matter how much you study, there is always a question on the exam that you never even heard of. I used Kaplan along w/ncsbn and still failed. I am currently using Saunders at the moment. I am depress but it is okay cuz the next time I take it, I will pass. Anyhow, good luck to you all.

Wonderful! Congratulations! See that----that's why it's so hard to predict the outcome of the test, especially when EVERYONE leaves there feeling stunned. :balloons:
