NCLEX October 2017

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello fellow NCLEX takers ... I wanted to start a chat for everyone taking the NCLEX in October ... let's motivate each other. When you need a pick me upper let's check up on each other. What are you using to prepare for the NCLEX? What date in October are you taking the NCLEX? Are you taking NCLEX PN or NCLEX RN?

I'll start with me. My name is Nadia and I'll be taking the NCLEX PN on October 13th. This will be my fourth time to take the NCLEX ... the last time I took the NCLEX was in 2008. I had to take a required refresher course in Florida in order to be eligible to sit for the exam again ... I did that and also did clinical which I absolutely love because I didn't get the same experience when I was in school. I have been using Saunders, just recently completed the Hurst Live Review (which I absolutely loved) and I will be purchasing U World. I've learned so much in the past year and so motivated to start my career. I do work a full time and I am a Team Lead so I have a hectic day almost every singe day. I have no choice but to make time when I get off to study from 7pm until I get tired and that may be 11 pm or 12 am. If I'm too tired to look at the computer then I'll plug in my headset and listed to the Hurst audio and put it in my long term memory as they call it lol. Hoping to hear from others as I love reading this forum getting different ideas from other fellow nclex takers.

Hi Nadia

I too, will be taking NCLEX in October. Not sure of date yet, just waiting for ATT. I failed my first RN attempt on 8/21 but will not let it stop me. I am going to use Hurst, Saunders, and Uworld.

Wishing you all the best!

We got this ... I'm using the same material as you ... how do you like the Hurst videos?

Hi!

I failed my first try last month. I've been studying and hitting it like back to basics. I'm hoping on taking my next try hopefully by the end of September to early October. I'm using Saunders, LaCharity, Lippincott Passpoint, Uworld and a little bit of Kaplan. This is for NCLEX RN. We can do this!!!

Yes we can ? ... how many hours are you studying each day?

I love the Hurst videos. I just received the remediation packet.

I study probably 2-3 hours a day sometimes more. The reason is I get tired easily from reading books so I'll end up sitting on a couch or in bed and do questions on my phone. I'll do like maybe 50-100 questions per day in addition to book questions. How about you??

Yes me too ... I felt so much better and doing the live review for 3 days ... just so amazing how I learn so much now I just need to make sure I have the NLCLEX strategy down packed because that was definitely not taught to us in school.

OMG ... I am the same way ... I start getting sleepy so I know my brain is telling me to stop then I break for 30 mins to an hour and jump back in again ... then when it's time to go to sleep I'll get on NCLEX mastery and start doing questions. Lately I've just been putting the Hurst Review in audio mode and walk around the house listening to the audio and answering the questions. Gotta do something to store it in my long term memory like they say lol

I'm taking NCLEX in October too! Just waiting on my ATT and the wait is killing me! Good luck you guys :)

Same to you thank you ... the wait for att is horrible ... I had to keep calling for mine until somebody told me exactly what to do and I did that ... got my att in 24 hours ... I just needed to have BON resend my eligibility to pearsonvue ... emailed BON and got it done. Are you taking NCLEX PN or NCLEX RN?

I'm taking NCLEX RN! I totally agree. This wait is terrible. I graduated in May and I am still waiting on my ATT. 😞
