Kaplan Qbank.. Can I share?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hey Everyone,

Im new to allnurses but I recently graduated in December 2011. I will be taking the NCLEX-RN soon. I am upset because our school made us take a mandatory kaplan review only to find out it was "kaplan style". So after paying $325 I gained absolutely nothing from it and it was not kaplan. I've heard kaptest qbank is the best way to study and pass the NCLEX. Kaplan charges 300 for the question bank but I am so broke. I was thinking I can split it with some classmates. Does anyone have any advice? Im broke and desperate

that's a good idea, in for answers.

I would suggest you check out the copyright side of things as you may find Kaplan will not allow the sharing of their product

Ok didnt realize there is a copyright issue with it. Does anyone know how many trainers there are total?

There are 7--beside it being a copyright issue, I don't think it is something you'd want to share (call me selfish :lol2:) . The Qbank keeps track of your scores and shows you areas which may be your weak spots. I feel like if you were to share it with people, you wouldn't get an accurate sense of just how you were doing.

Doing questions every day and reading rationales has really helped me. I started in the mid 50s on some of the first trainers and I took trainer #4 and got a 65%. By Trainers 6 and 7, they recommend a 60% b/c these are all NCLEX level question exams.

My Qbanks continue to rise and i got a 74% on a 50 q test yesterday--I have only seen myself continue to improve, so something is working here. :)

I think it is a very wise investment to make and Kaplan will REFUND you if you are unsuccessful, so long as you follow their recommendations and complete the necessary material.

Good luck!

i'm on a tight budget also. i bought the kaplan strategies book for $20, and if you google "kaplan nclex trainers" there are a few websites that have all 7 of the trainers online. you can't print them out, but you can just keep track of your score as you go through to see how you're doing.

good luck!

Guys I have a question, have you seen the free Kaplan QTrainers that they have online?

I have been using them and been getting decent scores. I just want to ask, for those who used the whole Kaplan course, are the free QTrainers easier than the QTrainers you have to buy for 500 bucks? Just wondering..cus it seems my Kaplan Qbank is harder than the free QT's. Been getting high 60's on the free QT's and high 50's in the Qbank.

@Muzikcal RN: practice the free QTrainers, then count how many you got correct divide by the total number of answers, move the decimal point two places back and that's ur percentage :) good luck!!

I used the NCSBN 3 week trainer for $50! I really felt like the questions were on track with Kaplan as well as the NCLEX. That is a way to save money at least! Good luck to you!!! :)
