I just found out I failed at 75

Wow! I took the NCLEX-RN on Monday and found out via the mail that I failed with 75 questions. It strikes me as odd that many people thought that 75 was a good number and that most people pass at that. I'm a prime example that you can fail at 75 questions. I got a lot of strength and hope from all of your posts while I waited for my results. I am very upset, cried a thousand tears, don't have a job, no money, and now I am left with nothing. I thought I had to wait for 90 days to retest, but I guess I can retake it in 45 days. I feel like a loser. I didn't even have a chance to pass at 75 questions. I actually felt good about the test too. I was hopeful that I had passed. I studied so hard. PA doesn't have the quick results, I guess I should have known I failed because I never saw my name and license number on the SBON website. I thought maybe they were just taking their good old time posting it. So...I am in the boat now with all of you retesters. I feel down right now. I need to find the strength to start again. I did believe in myself, but I question if I should even be a nurse. Please, post some of your stories of triumph over this crazy test. Thanks.

alam, I'm a second test takers so I'll been there. Before testing I did the Kaplan review. Personally it didn't help. Now I'm using Saunder's Com. Review. I was introduce to a young lady that failed the boards 3 times. She told me to purchase Kaplan Nclex Rn Exam 2005-2006. I wasn't willing to since the review wasn't good. After listening to her reasoning I purchased the book and Lord Behold, I have learned how to answer the questions. Knowing the material wasn't my down fall it was choosing the right answers and knowing how. This book alone with the Saunder is helpful to me!!! It is composed of thinking strategies, in depth analysis and detailed answer explanations which was my weakness. Please try it alone with Saunders. You will pass the next go around I have FAITH

Hi Angie. I took my NCLEX-RN exam last week and failed and got about 85 questions. I feel your pain because I too felt good about the test and questions seemed easy. I did Saunders and now I am doing Kaplan online review and Saunders together. At first it is hard to start over but even though It has been only a week since the failure I feel good now and can focus on my studies. The only thing you need is time and you will feel better.

I am so sorry about your results, please hang in there. You can do this. The support and tips on this board is phenomenal.

I took NCLEX on Thursday and got about 166 questions. I should find out tomorrow, and I'm scared to death. But I'm also beginning to accept that I may have to re-take it, and THAT'S OKAY. I was a good student, in the Honor Society, got good scores on HESI, etc., so I know I can do this. And I know you can too.

Please don't give up; you've made it all the way through school. Remember the expression "Don't throw the baby in with the bath water"!!

I thought Kaplan was a waste of money. I got a Saunders review book and studied the questions over and over and over and over. I did not do the CD Rom because one time I would score high and the next time low. I passed! I concentrated on being relaxed while testing. I think it helped. I read the question not the answers, closed my eyes and thought what I thought the correct answer would be. If it was there I selected it, if it wasn't I did the best I could between the two answers I knew were right and tried to prioritize which I would do first. When all else failed guess "C" the majority of answers are "C" on multiple choice type questions.

I was an LPN and went through Regents (now Excelsior) and failed the first clinical (CPNE) and was soooo devasted so I know how you feel. The second try I breezed right through it. Best of luck to you.

Im a second time survival also. The number of question you get on the nclex did not mean a thing. My 1st was kaplan, but it did not help me. So my 2nd time I actually focus on Saunders com and also Suzanne study plan which really work for me. I will advice you to try the Suzanne plan and get your saunders com cd. That all you need. I too fail at 75 questions. Trust me I know exactly how you feel. I know that no amount of encouragement will make you feel any better. But try to have the mindset that you WILL PASS the second time around. I am praying that you will pass. Good luck

this has got to be a horrible dissappointment but you have the knowledge in your head...review everything until about a week b/4 testing then try and relax

i too took my nclex last march 1 and was so disappointed to learned that PA is not included on quick result. i did not find my name at thier website. i am positively that i failed the nclex with 75 questions. i still did not recieve brown envelope from them. i did kaplan review and was so excited to take the exam but unfortunately the night before the exam i did not sleep at all my brain does not want to stop thinking. anyway, we will pass next time. i plan to start to study with suzanne4 advice. we will be RN soon. mp;)

I had heard that the clinicals were rough. What do they consist of and what was the worst part?
