NCLEX coming up FRIDAY!!! AHHH!! Need some pointers!!

Published

Hi guys!!

I graduated my Accelerated BSN program on January 31st and am signed up to take my NCLEX this Friday March 7! Like holy cow I cannot believe the time is here already!! My school used ATI and I always did really well, scoring level 3s on all of my final ATI exams. We also had to do the ATI predictor and score >91% chance of passing NCLEX the first time before they would sign off for you to graduate. I scored 93% the first time and retook it again for fun and got a 99%. I have gone through an ATI review class provided by my school. I have gone through Kaplan, I have the Lippincotts Q&A book that I have done 4/6 comprehensive tests, and I also have Saunder's and have done at least 1000 questions on the Evolve companion website. I have taken some notes on some topics I feel weak in and have made flashcards as well. I feel prepared, but then I don't feel prepared, I'm SO terrified of failing! I'm awful at SATA questions and am horrified of those on the exam. I only have a few days left to study and I just really want to make sure that I am maximizing the last few days I have to study. Can anyone offer up some last minute tips? Am I on the right track here? Should I focus more on just doing as many practice questions as I can? or focus more on reviewing content?

Any and all suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!! :)

Thanks! Jess

Good Luck!! I studied content & then did nothing but questions; to the point I wanted to cry. They main thing that helped me was "make sure you read the question" When you go take the test your nerves and anxiety are going to be on overdrive but make sure you read. When I got a questions I would read it, look for the answer that I thought was correct. Then I would read the question again to make sure I understood what it was asking. Rechecked my original answer to make sure it made sense, then read the question one last time. I was surprised at how many times I misread the question the first time, sometimes even the second go around. Just make sure to breath, focus, and read.

Hope this helps!!

Hi all! Thank you all for your tips and encouragement!! I think the test went well, it was nothing I can even describe, but something I hope to never have to experience ever again! lol I did the PVT when I got home andddddd I got the "good pop up" so I'm just praying that this trick really does work and that I get good results!

Aww thank you!! I'm not gonna get too excited yet until I officially see pass on the website, but this at least gave me some piece of mind!! When are you taking it? I'll be praying for you! You can do it!! Just relax, take your time and go with your gut!! Use the white board to do process of elimination, it helped a lot, id write down the numbers and Xd out the ones I didn't want!

Congrats! Do you have any advice? Do you feel the Lipincott book helped? Were all the drugs just off the wall

Thank u!! I just pray that the trick really works!! Hopefully I'll know 100% for sure tomorrow!! I liked the lippincotts book a lot I just got it this past Christmas and took the nclex today so I didn't have near as much time as I wanted to go through it! :( if you're in the beginning of your program I highly recommend it or Saunders and go through each section to correspond to what you're learning in school! And yeah most of the meds were pretty off the wall!

Thanks so much! It may be hard for you to sleep tonight due to all the excitment

Well Jessrose I feel the same way about the test just took it today (3/8) and it was like no other exam. I had 30 SATA when I stopped counting and then I believe I got maybe 3 or 4 more and that was it for SATA, as if that wasn't enough LOL. I cant even really get out what I want to say about it cause Im so worked up, but during the exam I was relaxed and chilled. Praying for the best I mean I feel like I did good so we will see. I haven't tried the PV trick yet cause the site said it was doing maintenance on the page today so I haven even bothered to check yet, plus Im so nervous to try so I think I will wait til tomorrow. Just glad to be done with this level!!:dead:

Please can you send me your plan [email protected]

THANK YOU!!!!! I live in Illinois and we had to wait 48 hours for the quick results, we had to pay $7.95 to get them. They aren't considered official yet because I still don't have a license number, but I know I passed at least! lol
