NCLEX in CA + NY

Published

hi guys!

its been a puzzlin' week for me

i just checked out the ca bon webiste

regarding application for nclex..

a friend of mine told me that its gonna

take a while for them to give us the a.t.t.

but some would say ca bon is the fastest

amongst all the state.. which is better among

the two ny or ca bon regarding a.t.t.?

because i believe in ny i still have to undergo

cvs for ny state...

is there any state in us that it would only take them

3-5 mos for att? and also i sat-in for cgfns/nclex

review in labagnoy review center for a month but i

quit for some personal reasons, they were talling us

that study guide such as saunder's / kaplan

is not enough speacially if we dont have a hospital

setting backround.. is that true?

i really need guidance from this website regarding

att and review materials thanks!!!! ;)

when i applied for CES last year at CGFNS, it took about 8 weeks before the report made available. i dunno the timeframe now coz i think they increased their processing times due to large number of applicants... so expect more than 2 mos for the CES report... hope it helps..

good day all,

I applied to NYBON, and yes, they are all correct saying that there is no faster or the fastest way to get your ATT, I guess in my opinion and experience.

I applied last Nov 2005 to NYBON upon learning from this forum that it will only take 4 months give or take, to get my ATT. but unfortunately this wasn't true at all. The truth is, the processing time for CVS by CGFNS probably varies because it took mine 9 months for the processing alone, and if I didn't call CGFNS to inquire about this, it will still be left unattended. After talking to CGFNS they assured me that they will forward my documents to NYBON shortly. Shortly to them meant 6 weeks.

Finally, NYBON, by August 12, emailed me that my papers are with them. Aug. 25, they emailed again saying that my ATT will be available in 10-14 days, if not... they advised me to call.

Since I applied for CVS-NYBON and VisaScreen all at the same time (NOV>2005) in good faith that I will receive my ATT in 4 months, my problem now is my visa screen application which evidently, will expire in NOV 2006 if they have not receive my English test scores and NCLEX-RN test score. Now time and a few hundred dollars wasted.

just sharing my experience, hope it'll help readers of this form.

PS: i have been preparing for Nclex-RN on and off since I got a job. Reason: after 4 months of nothing from CGFNS and NYBON, I decided to work instead.

Now that I heard from them already, my dilemma is my up and coming nclex-rn exam. Does anyone know how long i the validity of ATT of NYBON? I hope someone will share if they know. I want to know when I can take my NCLEX so I can schedule my review. Thank y'all. God Bless

If you notice that posting was made almist two years ago about which is the fastest.

And at the time it was, and they also issued you a hard license.

There are still plenty that get thru in about four months.

hi there mountaineer!

are you referring to the 12-month application period which is part of the new policy of cgfns (mentioned in the new fee schedule)?

I understand that the new policy covers only applications received on or after May 1, 2006. It might help if you can clear this out with cgfns as soon as possible and you can also share to us here their reply for our information.

I remember someone called cgfns on what is the effect of the new policy to applications sent to and received by cgfns prior to may 1, 2006 (she could not pay the fee within the 60 days payment period which is also part of the new policy). She was told by a customer service assistant not to worry as her application was made/sent before may 1, 2006.

I hope cgfns will also give an official announcement on this matter through its website. (perhaps, you can suggest this to cgns when you call them if it's ok with you).

I hope this helps.

ca allows a letter why you don't have your license so you may apply for nclex. but are you given the att for ca even if you haven't received your local license #? or you eligibility is put on hold until you send them a copy of you license?

Do you have any idea about NY Nclex application? Do you have to pass the local board exam first or you have to be be licensed NUrse here in the philippines first before you can apply for NEWYORk NCLEX? pls? i badly need your advice?

or can I endorse later to New York or California if i'll choose New mexico as my initial licensure? How long would it take for me to endorse to other state if my initial licensure is in New Mexico? thanks!

your questions have been answered in the other thread on NM. please take time to read Suzanne's sticky notes in both the International and Philippine forum. thank you.

i'd be glad if i'll be working in ny or nj

but they both need cvs or ces and its goin

to take a while for cgfns to evaluate my

credentials, i actually learned from a friend

that cvs for ny state took her 14 mos before

she was allowed to apply for att and so is

with nj... so im really having a flaming hand on

which to choose :flamesonb

thanks so much! i need more opinon :wink2:

lana:confused:

lana, you're right. cvs is taking too long in ny. my friend applied there last year and she hasn't received her report yet. if you're bent on taking the nclex asap, regardless of state, you might as well consider finding another state to live and work in.

regarding that cvs report, does it also apply to nevada? i mean, if i endorse in nevada, will they also require my transcripts to be evaluated again by cgfns even if i passed the requirements to another state?

HI just wanna ask if you need to be a licensed in the application of CVS? because in it's application form, there is a license verification form included.. thank you...

cvs does not require a local license, they do not have two separate applications. there is no place that it states that it is required, just if you have one, then you need to list it.

cvs is not a credential's evaluation, and is only good for ny. if you go to another state that requires a ces, then you will need to get that done. they are two very different items.

if you are going to work in ny, then you need to get a cvs, even to endorse.

and please be aware, that i have not seen one att issued to anyone that took the nle exam in june, 2006 and then applied afterwards to a state. have only seen them if the nurse applied before they took that exam.

nothing is going to be fast right now. period.
