hi guys!
its been a puzzlin' week for me
i just checked out the ca bon webiste
regarding application for nclex..
a friend of mine told me that its gonna
take a while for them to give us the a.t.t.
but some would say ca bon is the fastest
amongst all the state.. which is better among
the two ny or ca bon regarding a.t.t.?
because i believe in ny i still have to undergo
cvs for ny state...
is there any state in us that it would only take them
3-5 mos for att? and also i sat-in for cgfns/nclex
review in labagnoy review center for a month but i
quit for some personal reasons, they were talling us
that study guide such as saunder's / kaplan
is not enough speacially if we dont have a hospital
setting backround.. is that true?
i really need guidance from this website regarding
att and review materials thanks!!!!

when i applied for CES last yr, it only took about 2mos... but, cgfns increased the processing time due to increased number of applicant.. so expect more than 2 mos.
* while im waiting for the CES report, i took TOEFL exam so time wont be wasted... then review for NCLEX RN.
*you can pass your applic to your BON. then they will just download your CES report at cgfns site...
does really the endorsement process wil take long?like how many months? if i choose ny or ny it will
take 12-14mos for cvs for ny and ces for nj to evaluate
my credentials, then thats the only time for me to apply for
my att, and its $275 for cvs + i think its a waste of time
and money, i perhaps can move later to nj or ny or have
a reciprocity.. thank u so much! :1luvu:

just want to clear up things about the cvs for ny. it doesn't matter that you already passed the nclex in another state or get licensed from another state. if you endorse to ny, nysed will still let you undergo the cvs for ny (and it's accompanying long process - for various reasons) no matter what. that is why if you want to work in ny it is still best to apply directly for the cvs for ny.
some says CVS process may take about 6 mos. that was before. i dunno it's timeframe now coz cgfns increases their processing times...
my advice to you since you want to work in NJ...
1. pass the application form to NJ BON now http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/nursing/nurse_app.pdf
and apply for CES (simultaneously) http://www.cgfns.org/pdf/apps/CES%20Handbook%20Web.pdf
2. while waiting for the report, review and take TOEFL..
3. then, review for NCLEX
*and when the CES report is done, you are now ready for the nclex exam...and can take it anytime you want. that's it.. CES may take about more than 2 mos.
And to clear up a few more things, and hopefully this will be it on this topic.
Which ever state that you want to work in, if they require the CES or the CVS for initial licensure, are also going to require it for endorsement.
What is the hurry for the fastest? Anytime you try to cut corners to save time, it is going to cost you more in the long run to get to do what you actually want to do, as well as alot more money. And why? Makes no sense at all.
i'd be glad if i'll be working in ny or njbut they both need cvs or ces and its goin
to take a while for cgfns to evaluate my
credentials, i actually learned from a friend
that cvs for ny state took her 14 mos before
she was allowed to apply for att and so is
with nj... so im really having a flaming hand on
which to choose :flamesonb
thanks so much! i need more opinon :wink2:
lana:confused:
since you already narrowed it down to 2 states.. i would suggest to go thru nj instead. the ces would definitely be faster than the cvs. i also don't see ny going with the cvs for a long time, esp. now that it's neighboring nj just made applying to them faster. it's either nysed will also use cgfns' ces (unlikey) or totaly do everything itself (most probable, i think) since they are currently already evaluating the transcrips and other credentials themselves and only needs the cvs to "authenticate" it for them before they review them.
what i'm saying is that there's a possiblity that appying to ny would be faster in the near future. but until that time comes...
just my two cents.

Hi only passed by cos i was looking
on how to apply for NJ, do i really
need to apply first to NJ BON? or
i need to apply for CES? Cos it says to
the application form that there should be
a certificate from CGFNS first.. thanks!
and with regards to CES there were two
kinds of CES the one was FULL EDUCATION
COURSE BY COURSE the other one was
HEALTH PROFESSIONAL SCIENCE COURSE BY
COURSE REPORT.. ive tried emailing the NJ BOn
but i wonder how it turned out to be undelivered..
thanks!
