hi guys!
its been a puzzlin' week for me
i just checked out the ca bon webiste
regarding application for nclex..
a friend of mine told me that its gonna
take a while for them to give us the a.t.t.
but some would say ca bon is the fastest
amongst all the state.. which is better among
the two ny or ca bon regarding a.t.t.?
because i believe in ny i still have to undergo
cvs for ny state...
is there any state in us that it would only take them
3-5 mos for att? and also i sat-in for cgfns/nclex
review in labagnoy review center for a month but i
quit for some personal reasons, they were talling us
that study guide such as saunder's / kaplan
is not enough speacially if we dont have a hospital
setting backround.. is that true?
i really need guidance from this website regarding
att and review materials thanks!!!!

actually CA makes u eligible after 3-6 mos. among all the states, CA is the slowest...
i disagree. answering NCLEX questions should be based on the book! it is theoretical. you should not answer based on the real world(the one you experienced in the hospital). because what we are doing in the hospital may not be the ideal way to do it...
saunders and kaplan are good review material... i used them both. study on my own and passed on my first try @75.
maybe they are telling that to have more profit on their review center...

Totally agree with you.

Filipino RNs nowadays apply for either Vermont or New Mexico and many of them are posting that it only takes about 2-3 mos. because they don't require any service from CGFNS to be made eligible. They then endorse to another state that doesn't also require any service from CGFNS such as CA.
There will also be instances that it is better to just apply directly to the State BON you would like to be licensed to, esp. for those State BONs that require CGFNS' CES such as NJ, FL, IL to name a few.
If you'll do a search here, you'll come upon threads and posts on how to apply to those 2 BON.

hi lawrence!
so you mean its a lot better to apply for
a ces? like the on in ny cvs for ny?
but it will take like a year for them to
evaluate my credentials.. and another
6 months for att
thanks!

To take it from the State where you would like to work is eventually the fastest!
You might be able to sit for NCLEX faster from any other state but eventually, endorsement will take the same procedure as if you're applying for examination. The difference however is that if you're licensed in other state, you can work pretty soon in the State where you originally wanted to work by using temporary permit.
fastest to have att according to some posts here are New Mexico and Vermont.
*you should decide where you really want to work ... dont think which is the fastest... just like what they said, you may take the nclex in a little length of time.. but the endorsement process "might" take long..

Agree. So lana, w/c state do you want to work?? If you answer this 1st then posters here will be able to help you out better.
FutureUSRN is also right. It may boil down to just about the same time-frame if you include the endorsement process. But, still depends on w/c state you want to work. There are always excemptions to everything.

i'd be glad if i'll be working in ny or nj
but they both need cvs or ces and its goin
to take a while for cgfns to evaluate my
credentials, i actually learned from a friend
that cvs for ny state took her 14 mos before
she was allowed to apply for att and so is
with nj... so im really having a flaming hand on
which to choose :flamesonb
thanks so much! i need more opinon :wink2:
