Hello everyone ,I'm new to this site .I am a foreign nurse planning to take Nclex on April 17th.I have already registered with my BON.I did Kaplan and Just finished Uworld ..my scores in Kaplan ranged between 40-50 and I had a 59% on the readiness test which I just took and a 66% on self assessment test 1 on Uworld which places me on a very high chance of passing according to their site .Is anyone else taking Nclex April or anytime soon ?what materials are u using??how do u know u are well prepared for the exam ?looking forward to hearing from you guys .thanks
Georwise,
HI I just took the NCLEX April 6th, deciding on a whim to move it up a week earlier. I did that because I had done all the UWORLD questions and went over a lot of the one's that I had gotten wrong. I started to feel unproductive and so I chose to go earlier. I was averaging about 50-60% on them and when I took the self-assessment I was around 53% with Uworld saying I was on the border of passing.
I used the saunders comprehensive review online questions to help with strategy, All of the LaCharity questions with the online component, the 35 page study guide that I found on here, and NRSNG (for meds, some free questions, and his Nclex webinar was great)
When I got the test I had primarily select all that apply questions, so make sure that you are comfortable with those. I did a lot of those on test mode in Uworld which helps a lot. Also know your precautions, as far as what diseases call for which ones, what to wear, and how to handle any visitors.
Honestly, the test was nothing like I had expected it shut off in 78 questions and I cried in the parking lot. I spent the whole day convinced I failed as I am not the best test taker. 24 hours after the exam I did the PVT trick with an expired debit card, wrong address, and security code. It told me that I had already registered I then checked NURSYS and my state board.. shocked to see my name with RN next to it.
You can do this!
