Hello everyone ,I'm new to this site .I am a foreign nurse planning to take Nclex on April 17th.I have already registered with my BON.I did Kaplan and Just finished Uworld ..my scores in Kaplan ranged between 40-50 and I had a 59% on the readiness test which I just took and a 66% on self assessment test 1 on Uworld which places me on a very high chance of passing according to their site .Is anyone else taking Nclex April or anytime soon ?what materials are u using??how do u know u are well prepared for the exam ?looking forward to hearing from you guys .thanks

Hi Georwise,

i am am taking the board on April 4. I have ati. It was a school requirement for the last two months. Since then I have alternated between nclex 10,000; Saunders; Lacharity and lippincot alternate format. Am I ready? Don't think so, but I need to give it a try. Will see what happens on Tuesday. I am literally freaking out right nowí ½í¸«

I took the NCLEX about 2 years ago and I would highly recommend Uworld. I didn't find out about it until a friend who had just passed said it was the best out of all the online reviews and NCLEX books she used. I also used ATI and some of the Saunders book to get an overall understanding of things I needed to review, but if U-world predicts you have a high chance I would bet that you do!

Remember to take your time and read the questions, but don't spend too much time on any one question if you don't know it. At least that strategy worked for me and I passed the first time with 77 questions. I got done a lot sooner than I would have ever guessed. Good luck!!! You can do it!

I took the nclex rn in March and failed at 265 am a international trained nurse can someone help me with advise on how to go about it again and successfully.

Thanks

How'd it go? I took mine this morning as well.

PVT good pop up so far.

Do as many questions as you can on Uworld, any topic you feel blind sided by-write it down and at the end of the day look it up in your textbook. DONT over study and psych yourself out. Definitely read up on special diets, a few of my friends and I had its of diet and food questions. Practice your select all questions-remember they are just true or false questions of each statement. Good luck

Took test at 8am today. (April 4th, 2017) Test shut off at 75 questions. I had hoped for that to happen for me before test day. But when it happened it scared me because I wanted more questions that I felt confident in answering to redeem myself from the ones I felt I was likely missing. I even looked up some things to check my answer and found I got a few things wrong which is a sickening feeling. I studied with UWorld and felt like the questions were exactly like UWorld questions, I just didn't always know the answers. í ½í¸

Before test day I didn't thinkI would mess with PVT, but alas I've already done it 2x. 1hr and 4hrs after for the "good" pop up. I wish that would make me feel better but I'm a worrier. I swear the anxiety after the test is worse than before. I have to wait for quick results but I'll update when I get them.

Momx7RN, congratulations!!!!!

Good pop up is good. I am sure you did well. Mine stopped at 75 too, and I agree that the after stress is even worse. I am still getting the message saying "results on hold", so will just have to wait until tomorrow, or Thursday for early results.

Fingers crossed.

Georwise,

What can I say; easy and hard at the same time; had to scratch my head for some of the questions. I still can't use the PVT trick, because my results are on hold. I had a feeling this would happen because after the lady logged onto the computer, it shut back up before she left the room. She had to log back in again. So at the end she told me she filled out an incident report saying my test stopped and had to be restarted, even though I had not even touch the computer yet. So I will just have to wait. AAArghhh

I finished the entire Uworld question bank. I took the NCLEX my second time on April 3rd and got good pop up. I called the BON today and they told me I passed! I used some of Kaplan but didnt do very well, my scores ranged from 40-60, but I only got 60% once, On my QT 7 I got a 50%. Uworld was much more helpful to me than anything because it does a good job explaining why you got something wrong. Even after I completed the entire question bank on U-world I had a 48% overall and was in the 39th percentile. But because I went through the rationales thoroughly and wrote them down, thats what helped me retain the information. NCLEX was just like U-world to me. There were even a few questions, while obviously they weren't word for word from U-world, very similar and I knew the answer right away.
