Wondering if there are any nurse practitioners on here that currently or previously have experience as a NP at the Jacksonville Mayo clinic. I currently work as an RN at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN but I am graduating with my FNP in May. I saw an open position for GYN surgery NP in Jacksonville which has caught my eye.

Hi all, I am graduating a DNP,FNP in may 2023. I am moving from MN to FL after graduation and I am concerned about pay back in good old FL. About what range(s) can I expect as a new grad NP in FL? I currently make $43 as a bedside RN at MN (5 yr experience), the institute I currently work at considers your RN experience into your NP pay, is this pretty rare? Also are most being offered salary or hourly wages. Thanks!

I graduate with my FNP, DNP in May 2023. I have always had an interested in aesthetics and dermatology however, I am currently in my specialty rotation at a derm clinic and I find myself questioning if this is what I want to specialize in as a future NP. Anyone a NP in aesthetics and derm with feedback if they are happy with their choice to specialize in these divisions? My RN background is critical care, cardiac surgery, and heart and lung transplants. Thanks all!

Hi all! Looking for some general advice. Used to live in Naples, FL and relocated to MN to work as a RN at Mayo Clinic. I am graduating with my FNP, DNP in May and plan on moving back home (Naples, Ft. Myers area). Does anyone have experience with a company/office they really like or would recommend to stray away from? I am also concerned about pay in FL- would I be best to specialize (ie. womens health, derm, cardiac etc..) I plan on taking the AANP in June, should I wait to apply to positions after I pass my exam, or apply a few months before? Thank you in advance for any extra advice, its much appreciated!

I'll be starting in two weeks at the Saint Mary's campus on a PCU cardiovascular/heart transplant floor. I found housing at the Parker of rochester its dorm style and fully furnished month to month rent. I would look around as soon as possible because things fill up fast

I would start looking now! I went about two weeks ago and a lot of apartments were already booked!

I will be starting in two weeks at the PCU cardiovascular/transplant floor. I am moving from Florida and found a month to month apartment called the parker which is in walking distance to mayo and its employee shuttle. Just follow the steps on the MN nursing board online, i obtained mine about a week after submitting mine (but I was already licensed in FL)

I have a skype interview next week for a PCU cardiac transplant floor next week for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. I have six months experience on a heavy med/surg floor that I plan on basing my answers for behavior questions but can anyone provide any other advise. I will be relocating from FL to MN so I don't know the city too well and would love any insight/living as I have only seen the minneapolis area. I know FL and MN is a big difference but I can't pass up what I think would be such a good opportunity. Any RN's working at mayo that can share what it's like there?

Do as many questions as you can on Uworld, any topic you feel blind sided by-write it down and at the end of the day look it up in your textbook. DONT over study and psych yourself out. Definitely read up on special diets, a few of my friends and I had its of diet and food questions. Practice your select all questions-remember they are just true or false questions of each statement. Be patient with yourself, I have been working as an RN for only six months now, and although I am not completely competent for all my assignments I do feel a big change in my practice. Nursing school does not prepare you for real life on the floor. What I would recommend is so try and soak in everything nursing and make sure to remember your new role...and not be afraid to delegate to your CT. Show your preceptor how eager you are to learn, introduce yourself to everyone on the floor, and if you see something interesting or another nurse is doing a skill you have never done before..ask if you can help! Its going to be a hard change and really scary, but don't ever be afraid to ask for help-especially from your charge nurse when you are on your own because patient safety is more important than pride. hey guys! I am currently a new grad nurse on a very busy med surg/ortho floor in FL but I am looking to transfer and move to MN and work at the Mayo clinic. I already have obtained my MN license last week and have applied to just a few positions/openings. I wanted to see if anyone had experience in their interview/hiring/ or new grad process. I would appreciate any types of heads up or any advice... ER is where my heart is craving. I know, I feel so disappointed. I feel like we are missing out on a lot of information, I was looking forward to orientation to help ease my stress and now I feel like I am going in blind-folded
