NCC Spring 2021 NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Published

Hi Everyone, I am a Liberal Arts student at NCC right now and interested in "Change of Program" to Nursing for Spring 2021. I have almost all the Pre-reqs done with 3.7 GPA. Only thing I worry about at this moment is the TEAS Exam. I did not take the TEAS yet and due to the COVID-19, there's no any test date available in my area. Do you guys know if they would consider my application without the TEAS? Please let me know if you know anything about this situation. Thank you

JGVargas,

I'm applying for the day program in Spring 2021. Do you think my stats good?

TEAS = 72.7% (not too happy about the overall score, but I'm glad the individual subject scores below are all above 58.7%)

Science = 66%

English = 91.7%

Reading = 78.7%

Math = 65.6%

A&P 1 - A

A&P 2 - B

General Psych - A

Lifespan Psych - A+

English 1 - A

English 2 - A

History - B+

Sociology - A

Microbiology - A

Statistics - C

I'm also not a nursing major.

So if I'm calculating right, thats somewhere between 150-157 points?

I know for the TEAS... If you scored on any section... 58.7-80%, thats 5 points... 81%-90%, thats 10 points... 91%-100%, thats 15 points. So based on my TEAS, that should give me 30 points (out of 45 possible).

That’s correct. You grades are fantastic! No worries. There are people who got into the program who still had to finish 2 science courses.

Does anyone have an update as to when decisions will be sent out?

The reply to my application email said we’ll hear by the end of November.

Yeah mine said the same thing too. End of November. I’m hoping sooner!!

Hi guys!

My stats:

Not a Nassau County Resident / Haven't been in another nursing program

Eng101- A

Eng102-A

Psychology101- A

Stats- B+

Sociology- B+

A&P1-B+

TEAS - 76.0%

I know their program is super competitive so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I’m worried I won't get in with my grades.  Current NCC student who doesn't live in LI and I’m hoping I get accepted in the program. I did get accepted into Molloy but they don't offer a daycare and it’s much longer to graduate.

My stats:

TEAS: 80.2

  • A&P 1&2 = B+
  • Stats = A
  • Micro = B
  • Eng 1 = B+
  • Eng 2 = C+
  • PSY 1 = A
  • Lifespan = A

Currently taking patho and still need bio ethics

I honestly don't think I’ll get in. Most people have better grades than I do and I won't have the +10 pts for Nassau resident ?. My daughter attends NCC’s  daycare and its such a good daycare. I hope she can continue to attend ??.

Nonetheless, I hope we all get in. Good luck everyone. The anticipation is killing me.

Hi! I applied to the day program.

English Comp 1 - A

English Comp 2 - B+

Gen Psych - B+

Lifespan - A

Statistics - A

A&P 1 - A

Biomedical Ethics - A

I also got a 91 on my TEAS and I am a Nassau resident ?

I am currently taking A&P 2.

Good luck to everyone!

Hello Everyone

I hope all is well. Did anyone received any emails or mails from NCC Nursing Dept? I know they said mid Nov but the anticipation is killing me.

Not yet. I feel like it will be within the next 2 weeks. I can’t take waiting any longer!!!

Thanks for replying. I’m looking at mails n emails daily. I’m driving myself crazy LOL

Specializes in Psych.

I have a question for you guys. Im wondering what you would do in my situation.

Due to the nature/competitiveness of getting into these programs, I applied to 3 programs:

2 for nursing (nassau community college and BMCC)

1 for respiratory therapy

The respiratory one got back to me super early (2 weeks ago), I registered for the classes (not paid yet, due in January), and did online orientation.

Like everyone here im waiting to hear back from NCC this month. As for BMCC, lm scheduled to take HESI in December. So even if I pass HESI, BMCC won't tell me anything until around Christmas.

The thing is the respiratory program is saying we could buy our textbooks now. Im trying to hold off to see what NCC says because these books are kinda expensive. But at the same time, I don't want them to run out of stock at end of this month (who knows?). Maybe im over thinking it though.

Would you guys buy the books or wait? And suppose both accepted you?

I’d say wait & buy the books but I’m surprised NCC let you apply to both programs. Last semester I tried applying to two separate programs at Nassau and they only let me apply to one.
