you can check the California website of consumer affairs under registered nurses and continuing education providers and type their license number.. you'll see that they are a valid company until 2009..their trainings, however, should be used for the purpose of "desensitization" when you start working in USA as all their equipment and lectures are according to 2005 AHA guidelines. the certificates are not AHA certified because AHA doesn't allow out of state trainings. it is certified by American Safety and Health Institute as a Basic Training Center.

your only edge is that once you are in the States, the equipment/procedures will not come as a shock to you since you came across them during the trainings because let's face it, no matter how long you've been working as a staff nurse in the philippines, an entry level nurse in the states is a completely different scenario..

if you have money to burn and you're still waiting for a local job (bec we all know how hard and long it is to get in as a staff nurse here in manila), then go ahead.. skills enhancement and continuing education is always good for an RN.. Just dont rely on these trainings solely because what good are trainings and seminars if you dont practice them in the ward..

The issue is that not one of their courses is going to be recognized by any employer in the US; they will provide their own training if there is something that they require.

Continuing education is something completely different from what you are talking about and it can be used for that, it just means that someone has taken a course to keep their hours up for their license. But that says nothing about actual certifications being accepted in the US and that is where the problem lies. This is used for renewing a CA license, but again, since you are in the Philippines and do not have a SSN#, then no license, so it is a moot point.

Any course work for BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc., is not accepted when it is done out of the country. IV training is not a separate certification here in the US so that is not accepted either. The cards that they give out are not honored in any other country either.

Bottom line, save your money.

Save you money, any course like that will not be honored in the US and it will also be out of date by the time that you get thru immigration procedures.

And if the name is similar, it is not the AHA.

I think i_love is referring to this:

There is actually a training center that is called as the thread is titled. And it is not accepted by any facility in the US. Each wants to have the courses done in the US.

If you are not going to be using the courses to work in your country, there is no reason to spend the money to take them in your country, they are not going to be accepted here.

i think NC-CLEX trainings are recognized and accredited in the US... look at their website (ncclex.com) and check their company profile.. and even if their license will expire on may 2009 they may able to renew it..

and by the way, the name NC-CLEX means Nursing Center for clinical lab experience.. so don't think that they intended to sounds like NCLEX..

teehee ^_^

i took several courses with NC-CLEX like IV therapy and BLS/ACLS.. do you think our hospitals here in manila will accept those trainings when they require you to be IV trained? or do i have to take it again in a government hospital? thanks!

Nope it will not be accepted.. Only ANSAP accredited IVT trainings are accepted if youre planning to work here in the philippines..

The trainings that the NCCLEX offering is not accredited here in the philippines since they are using the US standards... but at least when you encounter such procedures in the united states, it will be easy for you coz you already had a training of those things which follows US standards.. likewise suzanne said "the equipment/procedures will not come as a shock to you since you came across to them during the trainings".... and I think what suzzanne was pointing out is the training inside institution or hospital where you got hired, which is a must to undergo (i think its free) for the purpose of the standardization of every procedure according to their policies.. regardless of all the trainings you attended..

and fyi I attended their respiratory certification program.. and its great.. they had all the equipments and materials and great preceptors.. and most of their trainees are already USRN especifically in the california.. i think they still dont have their license yet since they are not currently employed in the CA to have a SSN#..

the cards that they give out are just a proof that the certification is valid.. thats why they put youre picture on it.. and definitely it will never be honored in the other country coz its purpose is the validity of the trainings you undergone.. which are ACCREDITED!

"If you are not going to be using the courses to work in your country, there is no reason to spend the money to take them in your country, they are not going to be accepted here. -suzzanne4"

----its true  coz whatever training you took or attended if you will not use it.. what the sense of doing it?... most of the trainees took the NC-CLEX trainings before they go abroad and when i asked them why? they told me, it will help them to understand and familiarize with the modern equipments which definitely be using in their work abroad... which some of the government hospital here failed to acquire those modern equips...

so its not a waste of money..

its better to do something productive than wasting your time with nothing..

if you have ANY questions, you better call/contact the head of the NC-CLEX, Dr. Rusty

rather than reading OPINIONS/ COMMENTS of other people... ok

the standards for ACLS and and aother life support will change next year (2010).. new standards are being set every five years by the ILCOR... so if you will have your training this year, some of the standards in w/c you have been trained will be already be obsolete by 2010 even before your ACLS expires w/c is by 2011.(validity for PHA is 2yrs)

the standards indicated at AHA 2005 edition is almost like the oldest edition.. perhaps this time the new standards that may be set for 2010 is more likely same as the previous one (2005).. and if you already attended some trainings this year it will be still valid next year.. no prob with that..

There aren't any prerequisite course to take the ACLS because it's a 5-day course which includes BLS and ECG interpretation. NC-CLEX has an advocacy promo for their anniversary so the courses are on a discount. I will be attending their ACLS this July 6-10. I paid P3,150 for my ACLS.

God bless.
