The latest Nurse show premiers tonight on NBC at 10 PM ET. Will you be watching as "five young nurses embark on a high-stakes, life-and-death, emotional rollercoaster of modern nursing"?

If you do watch it, come back here and tell us what you think.  Will you be watching for errors or misrepresentations of what nurses really do???

Watch the official NBC trailer.

Specializes in LTC, assisted living, med-surg, psych.

Well, I went to school in the mid-‘90s and they were still teaching bed-making then. And I used that skill a LOT, both in LTC and med/surg. There weren’t enough nurse’s aides to do all the scut work, so we nurses pitched in and did a good bit of it ourselves.

I guess during my time that technique was reserved for the initial room set up before admission by housekeepers let alone CNAs. Salute to your generation. However, I am glad that nursing is transitioning from a career thought to attract the docile to do subservient roles.

Specializes in Nurse Leader specializing in Labor & Delivery.

I've attempted to watch this show 3 times now, and every time, I shut it off after about 10 minutes. So, I guess I'm most of the way through the first episode.

It's just...bad.

Yup! I remember those days. And if you work on a unit where there's constant turnover, and on night shift, you're the bedmaking wizard on room setups. I made so many beds I use those skills to make the beds in my house!

Yes! Hospital corners and postop beds with layers of drawsheets so you didn't have to change the sheets for a couple of days. Fanfolding the top sheet. Open edge of the pillow case facing away from the door (Catholic hospital requirement). I almost fainted when I came to this hospital (still here 26 years later) and discovered they use fitted sheets!

Specializes in Operating Room.

If I want to watch a show occasionally demean nurses, I would rather watch house. At least he was hilarious. Nurse Jackie was the only nursing show that I watched without reservations or utter dismay of how some things are depicted.

There was a show on HBO called “Getting On” that was extremely realistic, especially when it came to workplace dynamics and such. It was based off of a British show by the same name. It was really good and at times had me hysterical with laughter. ( in a good way)
