Navy NCP FY2016 Applicants

Hi!

I noticed there wasn't one for the FY of 2016, and I start my package on Monday to be sent to the boards August 1st. (My recruiter told me the earlier the better). So same thing as the last thread, this will be an area to calm nerves and answer questions. Good luck to all who apply, or are thinking of applying! :up:

Yes I heard there were some issues with last years applicants due to the government shutdown. I spoke with my recruiter about that and he thought things would flow a little smoother this year as long as that doesn't happen again so fingers crossed that it doesn't! I just want to know already, feels like I've been working on this forever!

Hello! I am finishing up the last portion of my package for NCP. My recruiter has led me to believe we have plenty of time, but I am worried that it is too late. I graduate 2016. Any info on deadlines, or when the board actually starts reviewing packages? Also, how many people will be accepted? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

I am (hopefully!!) almost done with my packet. I've filled out what seems like a million forms! My recruiter told me that my packet must be submitted by Sept 15th for October Boards. I will graduate in Dec 2015. I have a Skype interview tomorrow night. Wish me luck!

You are required to be a full time student for 2 semesters out of the year.

I applied in the NCP application period as well. My recruiter said the board meets the first week of Oct. and decisions should be released after that, anyone heard the same thing? The wait is going to kill me...

I went to MEPS on monday, had interviews on tuesday and now my kit was sent to the board yesterday. I was also told they will be meeting on Oct.1 and we should have answers by the 2nd week in october. I have only been waiting a couple days and it already feel like forever! I was also told there is only 5 spots for FY2017 available this time around. My recruiter said there is usually 60-70 spots available for each year.

No, there are still spots for FY16 but I'm not sure how many. When the board meets they review for 2 years so the October board is for FY 16&17. Next year there will accept apps for FY 17&18 but there will be less spots for 2yr applicants. Have you already completed your kit?

Hello fellow NCP applicants!

I just finished my applicant and barely got it complete before the Wednesday deadline. The application process was an intense whirlwind, my recruiters may have broken a record for putting my kit together in such a short time!

I know we got a wait ahead of us, but I can't wait for the results! Good luck to everyone!!

@blk87, yeah i finished my kit. I graduate in may 2016 so which FY would that put me in?

@inspiredbynavy That would put you in FY2016. They selected a few FY17 this year and next year they will have the FY17 as the main FY with a few FY18 selected.

For those who get in, I'll be sending out invites for a NCP facebook group. I have 1 FY16 officer candidate already in the group since she was selected this past December.
