Hi!
I noticed there wasn't one for the FY of 2016, and I start my package on Monday to be sent to the boards August 1st. (My recruiter told me the earlier the better). So same thing as the last thread, this will be an area to calm nerves and answer questions. Good luck to all who apply, or are thinking of applying!
Your in an accelerated Nursing degree beccawigg? Can you just take more than the standard 12 credits a semester to try and speed it up? (15 - 18 credits) or more?Iv never actually asked my nursing department here if that would be possible because a large portion of the BSN is online. I suppose it would be more possible since it is online but I figure I would ask some others here if they can speed up the nursing degree process.
I'm not in an accelerated.... as the accerlated at Mizzou is only for indviduals whom already have a bachelors. It's a "fast pace" sort of degree. So instead of graduating in May 2016, we would graduate in Dec 2015 (a semester early). We would also go year round for the year of 2015 (including summer semester). As Mizzou doesn't have the capacity to allow 75 students to do clinicals, 25 MUST go during the summer to complete the clinicals. I'm hoping to be on the list!! *fingers crossed*
You're good! I had all my finals this week as well!! I have a digital presentation and one more final next week and I'm DONE! Then i work on my minor (peace studies) which I believe will help me drastically with the volunteer portion of the Navy! Also on humanitarian missions! Plus I just love the content of the Peace studies courses! Mizzou is huge... so I don't really mind sharing that I go here! I dont know ANYONE else that has gotten in... the amount to people that apply to people that get in is outrageous! It is VERY competitive! So I feel very blessed that they accepted me!!!! I still haven't started my packet as my recrutier had to cancle on me... yet again... i feel like finding someone else!!
I understand your frustration with your recruiter, I was scheduled for MEPS next Tuesday (or so I was told) and was told to just double check a week before. Well, I've been trying to get a hold of someone in the office this week and literally, no one has picked up...what so ever. I'm assuming they're all out, but I got an email last night saying I wasn't scheduled for MEPS (from a completely different recruiter....?) and that he would need my paperwork. So right now I'm just super confused.
Apparently there was just a mix up and I finished MEPS today. (Hoping everything checks out and I don't have to go back again) It actually went by super quick and I didn't experience any "hurry up and wait" it was just "hurry hurry hurry" , I stopped by my recruiters office, dropped off my references and my interviews are in the process of being scheduled. I asked again just to make sure I wasn't going crazy and was told that boards are opening august 1st, so the fact that I'm getting everything done early will work in my favor according to her.
I'm a bit in a bit of a time crunch. I only started my package last month to submit for September 10. We'll see how this goes but I graduated this May from a 2 year nursing program and I passed my NCLEX this past July. Just recently got accepted to an RN to BSN program and should be finishing that up within a year. I'm still waiting on my acceptance letter tho although I've been pre-accepted (they said they have to wait for my license number until they can give it to me and that alone takes a while). My recruiter was kind enough to start my packet without it.
Anybody have any any tips for the interview portion? I have mine scheduled for next week.
Hey, just thought I'd join in on this thread. I started my package on August 1st and I'm almost done. Just waiting on my references to finish their paperwork and get it turned in. I met 3 other people applying for the NCP while at MEPS, and competition seems to be tough.
Anyone have an idea of how many people have been selected so far? Just trying to figure out how many slots are left. Also, I know it varies from year to year, but I was curious to know how many people apply for NCP on average. This is probably information that recruiters would know best, but if any of yall have already asked a recruiter (since we're all curious cats) and would like to share the answers then that would be awesome! :)
