  1. Can I get a link to the Facebook group too please.
  2. Can someone tell me how much the program costs all together? I cannot for the live of me find how much the program is on their website. Also any recent reviews and board pass rates would be great. Thank you!
  3. These posts have always confused me, especially since most MSN FNP programs I've been researching have ALL be online, regardless if it's a state school or for profit. In the state of Missouri there is ONE FNP program that a state school still offers in class, and fun fact, it's going online. I understand the resistance towards online programs and the fear that an NP may be ill prepared, but in the end you get the grades, and job with the amount of effort you put in. Even the school I go to currently has their FNP program online and requires you to find your own preceptors. Not all brick and mortar schools have people who find you a clinical site, most have you do it on your own and that seems to be the norm. I just really wish people would stop putting online programs down. They are not a bad thing at all.
  4. People seem confused about the sister school part so I just want to clear that up. (I'm pretty sure I understand because some of the smaller schools do something similar around here.) Basically two colleges will have a network set up to graduate BSN students because they don't have the faculty and or buildings to actually their own BSN program. So basically you would take your pre-reqs at school A and then once you're done with your pre-reqs you would then starts you nursing courses at school B as they have the faculty and space to run the rest of the program. If I remember correctly some school also use it to offset costs. So it is actually possible that school A could still be charging her as they might have missed the fact that she started at school B (These are typically two entirely different colleges who just work together on the program)
  5. Really? My recruiter told me that weren't looking at 2016 till August and I'm currently waiting on my interviews to complete my package. Are they really already full..?
  6. The NCP program currently has 70 spots from what I've been told by multiple recruiters. At least for my year. from what I was told your interviews, and motivation statements matter the most. They mainly use GPA to weed people out and anything above a 3.5 is good enough.
  7. Apparently there was just a mix up and I finished MEPS today. (Hoping everything checks out and I don't have to go back again) It actually went by super quick and I didn't experience any "hurry up and wait" it was just "hurry hurry hurry" , I stopped by my recruiters office, dropped off my references and my interviews are in the process of being scheduled. I asked again just to make sure I wasn't going crazy and was told that boards are opening august 1st, so the fact that I'm getting everything done early will work in my favor according to her.
  8. I understand your frustration with your recruiter, I was scheduled for MEPS next Tuesday (or so I was told) and was told to just double check a week before. Well, I've been trying to get a hold of someone in the office this week and literally, no one has picked up...what so ever. I'm assuming they're all out, but I got an email last night saying I wasn't scheduled for MEPS (from a completely different recruiter....?) and that he would need my paperwork. So right now I'm just super confused.
  9. Sorry for the super slow reply, I've been bombarded with tests and finals. I was told I needed 5 references (3 work, 2 professors) and if I was unable to get a work reference, replace them with a character reference. 5 was the minimum I needed, but I was also told I could get more than 5, so I figured 3 professor references, 1 work (all I could get), and 3 character references would serve me some good.
  10. That's awesome! I'm not too far from Mizzou actually! (withholding my school for privacy reasons). So far everything has been going smoothly, I have MEPS in about two weeks, and I'm just waiting on two more references, after that all I'll have are the interviews! Hoping everything keeps going smoothly, and maybe the boards will open up before Aug 1st. :)
  11. From what I was told by my recruiter as long as you have 12-24 months left of the program and you've been accepted (with an acceptance letter to the program). You can start your package. The reason I'm starting so early is because according to my recruiter, they'll be accepting packages starting August 1st and may open it up earlier.
  12. Well I graduate in 2016 and I'm starting my package now for the fall.
  13. Well, seems like I'm the only one applying for 16 currently who also happens to be on this website. So I guess I'll just update if anyone is looking at this thread lol. I had a meeting with my recruiter about two weeks about and got more information and my application started. I was told that there should be about 70 or so spots for this year, and there is a chance that they may open up early, so the sooner I can get my package done, the better. So far I have two references down, and 6 coming in. I'm having a little trouble on my motivational statement though, because i'm not sure if i should just type one giant paragraph or if it should be in essay format. So if anyone has any tips I would gladly appreciate it! As for everything else, I'm slowly getting the checklist done! I'll try to update every week or so.
  14. Hi! I noticed there wasn't one for the FY of 2016, and I start my package on Monday to be sent to the boards August 1st. (My recruiter told me the earlier the better). So same thing as the last thread, this will be an area to calm nerves and answer questions. Good luck to all who apply, or are thinking of applying!
