Navy NCP FY2015 Applicants

Published

Hello all! I have been avidly following previous topics about the NCP program and I wanted to start one for those of us who have recently submitted a kit for the NCP program for FY2015. I'm in the Chicago area and my kit is currently being combed over by a processor then will be shipped out for the boards- which aren't convening until Novemeber (according to my recruiter), since they wanted to have more applicants. Hopefully this will be an area to calm nerves and answer questions. Good luck to all who apply, or are thinking of applying!

I was reading in a Navy nurse corps direct assession thread, which is for graduates who have their BSN and not students like the NCP is for, and it sounds like the numbers are very small if any for available spots. I hope this is not including NCP as well..

Well for DA they would be starting now. For NCP we wouldn't start until halfway through 2015, so I would think they have more spots open for NCP. Also my processor told me he thought there were 50-60 spots for NCP

I don't think that the number of spots has changed, even after the government shutdown. That's my understanding, anyway! How great would it be if we all got "good news" phonecalls today? Nervewracking!

I doubt any of us will hear anything since it's so late on a Friday now. I wonder what the holdup is

A lot of people take leave around the holidays; it's almost Thanksgiving. I wouldn't count on an answer before then, though I'm sure it would be nice! I remember my Army selection board was November 16, and I didn't hear anything until 1 December-ish due to holidays and whatnot.

If the number of spots is around 50 still, then I don't think theres anything to worry about and we should hear good news very soon.

I. Hate. Waiting.

I sent my recruiter an email last week telling her happy holidays and what not and she emailed me back and said my kit is officially under review and we just still have to wait :/ so hopefully it's before xmas...

I thought the way it worked was kits are submitted, and if they have all the requirements they will all be looked at during the "board" which consists of senior navy nurses that meets once a month or until all the spots are filled. idk how they grade the applicants, but somehow they make selections during the few hours or so that they get together

Do y'all think we'll know before or after christmas?!

I'm going to die if we don't know before Xmas. I called my processor today and left him a message. Hopefully I'll hear something back from him soon

Man, i was hoping before thanksgiving... :/ Any word from anyone??
