Hello all! I have been avidly following previous topics about the NCP program and I wanted to start one for those of us who have recently submitted a kit for the NCP program for FY2015. I'm in the Chicago area and my kit is currently being combed over by a processor then will be shipped out for the boards- which aren't convening until Novemeber (according to my recruiter), since they wanted to have more applicants. Hopefully this will be an area to calm nerves and answer questions. Good luck to all who apply, or are thinking of applying!
I wouldn't worry about it too much though, something about it seems a little fishy. Coincidentally the med school school applicants heard back last week so it's entirely possible that her application was sent to the wrong board or that there was some sort of miscommunication. My recruiter has been adamant about the results not being released as of yet!
Heard back from my recruiter today... Apparently alot of the applicants are considered FY 2017 and they didn't accept many for the 2015 year, but however since they had so many applying that would be finished by FY 2017 they would be holding another board meeting in a short timed frame... any one else hear this? Thats what my recruiter told me because I'm supposed to graduate in December 2016.
That seems a bit fishy since NCP is a scholarship for people with AT MOST- 2 yrs left of school. So why would they be considering people who won't even graduate for another 3 years? And the first set of boards was postponed due to a low number of people applying. So it doesn't make sense to me why all of a sudden they have too many applicants and not enough spots for FY2015 people.

Well if it is true that they are going ahead and doing 2017 boards then they could be accepting people but holding off the money until they are within the 1-2 year time frame.
Oh and I'm sure by the time the actual board meeting occurred they had many applicants. There are always way too many applicants.

No, she spoke with him again today and he informed her that results were up and that apparently many applicants who were re-applying were accepted this time around. He also told her that only 4 people from the New England region were accepted. My recruiter didnt tell me anything about when we should be hearing. However, this process isnt a quick one at all so I really feel that it's still far too early to be hearing back already.
