Navy NCP FY2015 Applicants

Hello all! I have been avidly following previous topics about the NCP program and I wanted to start one for those of us who have recently submitted a kit for the NCP program for FY2015. I'm in the Chicago area and my kit is currently being combed over by a processor then will be shipped out for the boards- which aren't convening until Novemeber (according to my recruiter), since they wanted to have more applicants. Hopefully this will be an area to calm nerves and answer questions. Good luck to all who apply, or are thinking of applying!

That seems a bit fishy since NCP is a scholarship for people with AT MOST- 2 yrs left of school. So why would they be considering people who won't even graduate for another 3 years? And the first set of boards was postponed due to a low number of people applying. So it doesn't make sense to me why all of a sudden they have too many applicants and not enough spots for FY2015 people.

well i am not one to just pull stuff out of the air. From what my Recruiter told me. about 80 applicants got their applications kicked back from it.

Still no word from processor or recruiter :/ They said they would let me know whenever they know something!!

Mine said there is no information out there other than there were approx 100 applicants and approx 40 spots to fill

And the board already met? I just wanna know already, whether I got it or not.. This not knowing is affecting my class selection

The board stopped accepting applicants (closed) nov 8. They met the week after. Decisions have been made. But for some reason they aren't relaying that information to anyone yet

This is the phenomenon that occurs in every branch of the service; it's known as the "hurry up and wait." It sucks no matter which uniform you're in, or looking to wear. Hang in there!

Well if it already met I guess thats some sort of relief for me at least. I did my physical dec 2012 and its only good for a year. I know you would think that wouldn't be an issue, but with the boards being so picky I wouldn't put it past them.. Someone in my class was accepted to NCP last year and had his package in for the first board as well I believe. He was notified mid-end of december 2012.

Hey Everyone, so i just spoke with my recruiter on the phone. I'm in!!!!!! She said that she was just notified this afternoon and that about 80 people were accepted. Because it was such a large number, the Navy will be staggering the commissioning process. I would assume that since I'm still in my junior year, I'll be among the last to get papers signed. Hope you all hear back soon and good luck!

I was too! Got an email saying I was selected and my recruiter will be in touch within the next 3 weeks when final approval has been transmitted.. Anyone know what that means?
