Navy NCP FY2015 Applicants

Published

Hello all! I have been avidly following previous topics about the NCP program and I wanted to start one for those of us who have recently submitted a kit for the NCP program for FY2015. I'm in the Chicago area and my kit is currently being combed over by a processor then will be shipped out for the boards- which aren't convening until Novemeber (according to my recruiter), since they wanted to have more applicants. Hopefully this will be an area to calm nerves and answer questions. Good luck to all who apply, or are thinking of applying!

My recruiter notified me I got a Pro-Yes and indicated nothing about this not being secure, so i assume I am ok.

Also, trueblue33 it is interesting you brought up that documentary comment. During my interview processes, both of my interviewers (1 male nurse, 1 male physician) both brought up the sexual assault controversy and said the navy is working hard to make it better. I just thought it was interesting though that they both mentioned it. I informed them I am aware of this and understand my risks as a female in the military. I got to an all women's school, so i made some good connections.

Pro-yes... Meaning you were professionally recommended and then officially taken? Did your recruiter say when you would sign?

all i was told that i "got a pro-yes" and am just waiting for everything to get officially released so I can get letter and sign. No mention on when to sign...hopefully within next month i assume :/

My recruiter said he would be in touch within the next 3 weeks once final approval has been transmitted

Thanks trueblue33! I'm glad that there are other "pre-selected" candidates out there and they're getting their contracts. I thought for a second that my recruiter was pointlessly stringing me along because I've never heard the term before. I'm in the Buffalo, NY area.

Heard from my recruiter today via email. He urgently requested a letter of good standing from my school that included my GPA and enrollment proof. Not sure if any of you got this as well, but just keeping you informed on what i am hearing on my end

I was also asked to submit a letter of good standing. Last I heard, they're still waiting on numbers to send out final select notices. So eager to sign that contract to make it all official!

Me too! Did your recruiter make it seem like it was an emergency and they needed the letter right away? I submitted one a few months ago, i guess they need another cause a semester just ended

I just finished my first semester of nursing school, so they also needed an updated one from me! My university just reopened on the 2nd after the holidays, so I had to wait before I could get anything. When I spoke with my recruiter, he mentioned that everything would start to pick back up again on Monday. I think you'd be okay if you brought something to your recruiter then. I submitted a bit of everything (unofficial transcript, enrollment verification). Wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything! Haha!

Oh ok, yea I told him I might not be able to get it to him unit tuesday and he said that would be okay.. Hopefully this is that last thing before signing

I don't know if your school is similar, but my school just posted and finalized grades yesterday. So, you might not have been able to get it any sooner!

My recruiter said people accepted at this board usually swear in in April. Though, it could always happen sooner!

Oh not until then?? Wow thats a long time from now, I thought for sure I would due signing papers this month.. I know someone in my class who got this program last year around this time, and he had to wait a few months until he started receiving his stipend and bonus. I don't know If he signed up and than waited or if he didn't sign for a few months down the road
