Hello all! I have been avidly following previous topics about the NCP program and I wanted to start one for those of us who have recently submitted a kit for the NCP program for FY2015. I'm in the Chicago area and my kit is currently being combed over by a processor then will be shipped out for the boards- which aren't convening until Novemeber (according to my recruiter), since they wanted to have more applicants. Hopefully this will be an area to calm nerves and answer questions. Good luck to all who apply, or are thinking of applying!
I think (though I'm not entirely sure) that we only have to be enrolled full-time in the regular spring and fall semesters. I have to take two more G.E. courses, and I also wouldn't be full-time during the summer session if I were to take them then. Plus, summer school is pricey! For most schools, the "academic year" only includes spring and fall. Maybe that's what they mean by being full-time all year? I'm hoping, anyway!
No, my last recruiter said summer was included and when I submitted my education plan I had to show full time class load in the summer.. I emailed the new recruiter weeks ago and he never replied with the answer.. I did hear from someone in my class that was accepted to NCP last year who spoke with some person in charge of the NCP and they said if you didn't have the classes to take to be full time in the summer you were fine, but technically it is a requirement of the program.. I've come this far I just don't want to mess anything up
hey yall,
I would keep bothering your recruiters because as I have said before I signed and took the oath January 28th. I was notified early January I was a final selectee for the fiscal year 2015. I have already received my first signing bonus as well. Just keep asking because my recruiter had answers for me and I know we all want the certainty and the monetary benefits!
TraumaRN, I think were fine.. I read about that and most of the cuts appear to be in the Army.. And about Lsolberg's early selection and signing.. I know last years selectees were phased in over a period of time after selection.. Since Lsolberg is on the east coast, I wonder if they just began phasing the selectee's on the east coast first, then will move to the midwest, west.. Just a thought

Since you've already signed, do you have any idea if full time status is absolutely required for the summer session? Even if you have no more required classes you can take? Thanks
I wonder if direct commissioning would be the better route for me? My main concern is paying off my debt. Direct commissioning offers a nice sign on bonus from what I've read. However, I hear they accept only 30 people a year, while NCP accepts 60, give or take. Does anyone know anything about this?

Nothing here either, but I was going to reach out to my recruiter next week sometime and will keep you informed on any news.. I did have a question for you guys.. I know one of the requirements for the program is to be a full time student year round. At my school, the summer session is split into two.. Session 1 and session 2 with 6 units each or 12 units total being full time. There is only 1 class, or 3 units for the entire summer that i need to take that is required for me to graduate in December, other than that I would just be taking meaningless classes to achieve "full time" status. I have heard different things regarding if this is absolutely necessary or not, anyone have any info on this?
