Hi Everyone :)

Just wanted to start a thread for everyone that's applied to the Navarro College ADN-RN program starting Fall 2012.

Figured we needed a place to post, ask each other questions etc. while waiting on our acceptance letters..... I was told they won't be sent out until the end of May. Has anyone else heard otherwise?

hey you all, Congratulations because getting into a nursng school these days is TOUGH! I am on the active alternate list & have been applying to other nursing schools who are still accepting apps( I know this late !!) but anyways, I'm trying to keep my options open this time instead of just applying to 1 school (navarro). & its weird becaue I think I have a total of 98- 103 points but im not for sure becaue idk how much they gave me for working in a health related field. But anyways I think one of the reason was because I got a D a&p 1 & nutri but wrote a note that said ill be done w/ these by the end of the summer. But any who The main nursing lady (name disclosed but the older one) told me there is about 10-15 people on the alt list and usually 4-5 get called in. Earlier in this thread somebody said that they only accepted 60, but I remember during the meeting that they accept 70 adn generic and a significantly less amount in transition. But any ways I hope I still have a chance!! do they do admissions in the spring?

Hi Moochie!

You would be entitled to 5 points for "health related field etc" Im pretty sure I only had 102 or 103 points... So if you did have 102 then you have got to be at or near the top of the list. Navarro only does ADN admissions in the Fall. Try to stay positive :) hopefully you will be accepted. Let us know when you get the call!!

Best Wishes

Anyone taking the CPR class in Waxahachie on June 1st? :)

Well- good news... I dont have TB, all of my textbooks arrived, and I passed College Algebra with a 96% overall ((happy dance)) 2 months till orientation.... Yay!!! How's everyone doin? Anyone still on here? LoL

WOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) I don't have TB either! :D I'm going to get my textbooks sometime this week hopefully, along with the scrubs. Very very excited about it all, to be honest! Gonna get the CPR certification in a few hours.

I was wondering if anyone was still here as well! As I walked through the cyberworld, it seemed so.....quiet. :uhoh21: LOL

I do not have TB either!!!! WHOOO HOO!!!! I registered for my classes today and I am going to buy some of the required textbooks from a previous student on Monday. I am doing my CPR on June 9th and then I am good to go!!! Enjoying this nice little vacation although I am ready for school to begin!!!

I don't have TB either! Yayy! I haven't done my CPR yet. Where are you doing it Shaylynn? I got my books and need to get some scrubs. I'm super excited! Summer classes start today for me.... Boo! Can't wait to meet you guys!! :)

Hello everyone! I also got in to the RN program at Navarro! Been feeling a little in the dark about what all we were suppose to have done, so glad I found this forum! Wasn't sure if I was suppose to go ahead and register because it didn't say to on the email lol. Glad to know we will have a heads up on scheduling bc I have a baby and will be working! I hope we weren't suppose to have the CPR done already bc my cousin is doing it for me this month sometime. And I haven't made it in to got my tb or last hep b shot yet. Did y'all have to do meningitis vaccine as well, didn't know we had to get it. Ready to get this show on the road so we can be done! Best of luck to you all!

Hi RaeAnn!! Yes, we have to have a meningitis vaccine, CPR and TB should be done already too... One of the attachments in the Congrats email had a little list of what needed to be done and when. I'm sure it's not a big deal at all.. But I would get them completed sooner rather than later. I can't wait to get started either :)

Are you guys nervous yet? :yeah:

Im still checking in on this post from time to time, Ill be glad to answer any questions.

It wont be long before you are freaking out all the time and wondering where your life /free time went. Its awesome!!

Good luck, and no matter how hard it gets, just keep pushing because it gets better.

once again, id study an nclex book if I were you because these tests are unlike any you have ever taken before. Get use to the nclex format (not just picking the right answer, but picking the best right answer)

I haven't gotten my last Hep B or CPR either. I think we should be ok. I'm doing my CPR on the 16th. If you go to web advisor, you should see that your classes are registered already. All you have to do is pay! :-) I got scrubs from a place called Dorothy's uniforms. They were VERY helpful. They said if I knew anyone that needed any to tell them not to wait til the last minute bc they go fast and it takes abt 2 weeks to order more. There's one in Waxahachie! :-)

Thanks for the info and can't wait to meet everyone! Gonna get my stuff done ASAP! Just had a baby so been a tad busy lately lol but it will get done! See y'all soon.
