Hi Everyone :)
Just wanted to start a thread for everyone that's applied to the Navarro College ADN-RN program starting Fall 2012.
Figured we needed a place to post, ask each other questions etc. while waiting on our acceptance letters..... I was told they won't be sent out until the end of May. Has anyone else heard otherwise?
I know what you mean! I've passed them all so far as well (tomorrow is the sterile wound/Oral meds validation for me), but I feel almost like the dumbest person in the class...and very much overwhelmed at times! I don't know of anyone who could read all the chapters, do all the ATI, study for validations and tests, and living a normal life all at the same time. Hoping and praying this week won't break us (what doesn't kill us makes us strongerrrrr, hahaha). :)
Do you mean like where I'm going for the med worksheet? I'm going to an online drug guide to find that stuff, and webMD for the 5 that I can't find in drug guides. I remember telling someone that my mom tests me when I practice validations, but I don't remember much about PO meds at the moment. The med worksheet is how I'm memorizing all the meds, and I write out validations in my own words to simplify it. :) Hope this helps.
Not sure if anybody is still checking this...but if you are...I have a few questions. I'm applying for Fall 2013 and I go back and forth between being confident and being so nervous I can't see straight. So anyway, my questions...
How was the first semester?
How has the schedule been?
About how many people are in your classes?
I have wanted to be a nurse for years but I'm a teacher and it's been hard to give up the security and income of that. We are finally in a position for me to go and it's still so surreal that I'm even applying. I have everything but my driving record (it has to be mailed to me) and I'm getting my physical on Friday. Then...I turn in my app and go crazy for a few months while I wait for that email
amac77- we just finished up first semester and are starting second. The first semester was great but a little hectic adjusting to the nursing way of life and testing. The first month we went pretty much every day, but after that we averaged about only 3 days a week in corsicana. One day clinical, one day testing, one day lecture. Clinicals/ Lab Time either M or T, Testing-W, Lecture- TH, and Friday was generally free day for studying at home. Our class started out with between 68-70 people. You shouldn't have to wait very long for your acceptance/denial email. We found out in April last spring. Well, good luck.
