Hi Everyone :)

Just wanted to start a thread for everyone that's applied to the Navarro College ADN-RN program starting Fall 2012.

Figured we needed a place to post, ask each other questions etc. while waiting on our acceptance letters..... I was told they won't be sent out until the end of May. Has anyone else heard otherwise?

Does anyone remember if we can have colored nail polish for school? I know we definitely can't for clinicals. Thanks!

they said only clear polish for clinicals, so i would assume that since in class we can wear casual clothes and different scrubs that we can wear colored polish.

I may be wrong... But I'd think that colored polish would not be allowed. Why would we wear scrubs for "lab days" if we weren't trying to simulate how it's gonna be in clinicals? Also, in past healthcare courses I've taken, colored polish wasn't allowed. The instructor wanted to make sure we knew how to wash our hands correctly, and we can't see dirt if it's hiding under colored polish.... Like I said though- I might be wrong. Just my thoughts.... :) see y'all tomorrow!!!!! WOW. Can't believe the day is finally here :)

For lecture only days though, I think colored nails would be ok :)

So do we were scrubs tommorrow???

I guess so. :p I am. See I don't know what tomorrow even counts as...they said to wear scrubs for skills lab and clinicals. Mrs ____________ told us one thing and our instructors are telling us another.

I know! Prob just be easier to just wear them just in case. :)

Yep, that's what I'm gonna do. Have you gone over the validation thing or ATI yet?

I am in class with Jo Sh. Just wondering how y'all are feeling now.

Well we are about to finish our first week. :) It's difficult for me only because I'm not in the swing of things just yet, still trying to get the pattern down. The schedule is great, and the instructors rock. :) I can't speak for everyone, but I'd say the first week has been what I expect the entire program to be like: challenging and time consuming, but worth every bit of it!!!!!!! :nurse:

Yes, it will be very time consuming, and there will be weeks that you feel you haven't seen the light of day, but just hang on, there is a light at the end of this tunnel called nursing school. And don't forget, there are people close to help, don't hesitate to ask if you need it. I wish y'all the best of luck.

Anyone from groups 1,2,3--- how were validations?
