Nau Nursing Spring 2016

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi everybody, I decided to start this post because I spend all day everyday looking for answers that will calm my nerves about applying to yet another nursing school program. I currently have all of my prerequisites complete and I have a GPA of a 3.75 (is that GOOD?). I have not taken my Kaplan yet so I am hoping some people that have already take it can comment on her and give their advice on hard it was and what the best study materials are. It helps me to hear other peoples stories so I can kind of base my situation off of theirs. I'm hoping that my GPA is good enough and if I get at least a 85 on the Kaplan that I will get into the Tucson location. With only 20 spots available it just makes me a little nervous. I want this to be a post where anybody can post question and get answers in order to clear up confusion, or help people who are like me and just need some reassurance on their GPA and Kaplan score.

I know how you feel. If my gpa was higher, I wouldn't be so nervous but I know there will be people who have much better ones. I hate not knowing, I'd rather know sooner than later! Do you have a backup plan? I really don't know what I'll do next if it's a no. I suppose retake some classes but I'd rather not have to do that.

Hey guys! I just wanted to get in on the conversation since it's about the only thing I can find. What were your guys' GPA's and Kaplan scores (if you don't mind my asking)? I just want to know how this semester looks. I applied with a 3.77 and an 82 on the Kaplan with a 72 or 74 in the science portion. Other than that, I'm just patiently waiting the same as you guys. Hope everything goes well for you!

If you read the whole thread, you can see we posted our grades:) Cocobean, I just talked to one of the admissions people and he informed me we will be getting our letters late next week. Hang in there. I'm hoping and praying I will get in, but my chances aren't good. If both of us make it, we should meet since your in my area! Good luck, I wish the best for all of us.... Keeping my fingers crossed.

Ah ha! Thanks for all the info! You seem to be in touch with the admissions office quite a bit! Any other info? Averages for this application period? Do they take anything else into account such as experience? Or is it really strictly GPA and Kaplan score? I haven't found any other info suggesting otherwise. Thanks again and good luck!

I wonder if that means they already made all their decisions...that makes me nervous lol. I'm hoping and praying we get in! That would be great to get together if we both get in! Nice to meet you beepis. I think you have a good chance with those scores! Do you have anything in progress?

Good luck to you all. I'm in 5th semester at NAU... I remember obsessively checking my mail for like 2 weeks. Don't get too discouraged, I was worried about my GPA and Kaplan scores and got in. You never know! Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions. Idk if I'll be able to answer them, but I'll try!

Hi eveyone i also applied for the 2016 spring cycle and im impatiently waiting lol i applied for yuma..i have to confess that last night i had a horrible night-terror where i received a manila envelope but when i was crying in excitement opening the envelope come to find out that it was a rejection letter..stating please apply mext semester lol i woke up discouraged:(

What was your gpa and kaplan scores when you got in?

Hey! How was the Kap? I am taking in January right before applying for the post-bachelors accelerated program that starts in May. Haven't seen any threads yet with other summer '16 hopefuls but there's not a lot of info on the Kaplan so just thought I'd ask! Good luck to everybody or if you're already in for spring...congrats! :)

I just checked my nau email! I got into yuma and am also an alternate for flagstaff. I don't see what number on the alternate list though. It says I have to make a decision by the 13th. Idk what to do! But I'm so relieved!!!

Good job. I unfortunately didn't make it. Maybe next semester. My Kaplan was too low.

I'm sorry. Did they say it was your kaplan? There was a kaplan study guide they sent out last week in our emails and I saw a lot of good things on there. I wish I had had it before I took the test. I bet studying that would really help!
