National University SD Cohort 59 July19

Published

Hello future nurses,

I have recently applied to cohort 57 for National University in SD and was denied then decided to skip cohort 58 and get more study time in for the next cohort. I am not as nervous as I was in the first time I applied, people seem to be getting higher and higher teas scores which makes the program more difficult to get into, which is good it challenges all of us. When I took the essay i was super scared and didn't practice all the prompts, I didn't score well but scored better then I though I would have.

I am excited to hear from others that will be applying for the cohort 59 for July 2019!

@Rn695 there is also a way to go through the PSI center to find more teas dates. Only difference is you have to wait a day or 2 to get your score. Hope this helps ?

Hey all,

I was reluctant to post on here, but I think that if i'm stressing theres a good chance other people are too... So maybe we can all keep each other sane! Lol. I barely made this application deadline,(applied today) and I'm surprised there are not a lot of people here! But anyway, I'm applying with a 94.4 and a 4.0. I want to actually study for the TEAS and see what i get this next time. We get to take one with national for a little cheaper right? There are literally nooooo ATI dates before March. Does anyone know the prompts for the essay? Thanks in advance.

Hey! You can also find test dates through the PSI TESTING center for your TEAS. Only difference is you don’t get your scores immediately, about a day or 2 later. Hope this helps!

I did not know about PSI! thanks! I would love to take the TEAS over and over again. But at $85-115, I think I'll just stick to taking it a second time on essay day! Thank you for letting me know tho!!!

hey wonderful people,

I applied to the last cohort but didn't get in. I missed the cut off by 0.5 point. It was a bummer. I'll retake the essay since i only got a 4/5. Not worried abut the TEAS. I'm sitting at a good 95.3 %. I retook a class so my GPA went up. So hopefully, fingers crossed, second times around will be a charm. Does anybody know how many people applied and such? This cohort is awfully quite ? Good luck everyone!

I know, this cohort is so quiet!!! But to answer your question, there are just under 200 applicants this time around. Not bad! I've heard of cohorts having 300!!! I am looking forward to having this process over with, and counting down the days until its essay and TEAS time! I'm on the 20th. Anyone else?

Hey, Thanks for the reply. I'm on the 25th. Good luck to you! Let me know what kind of prompts they give out for the essay.

I took the essay exam yesterday. I’m not very proud of my essay so I am freaking out right now. I feel like I could’ve done better. I really want to get into the program. Anybody sharing the same sentiment?

Hirayah, do not freak out. You have two more attempts if this is your first attempt. If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and TEAS score? You will be fine!

Thank you for your response. GPA is 3.9 and 88.7 for teas. Do you know how essays are scored? Did you apply for this cohort as well? I have been a long time lurker of this thread but I felt the need to sign up today because I want to reach out with other applicants who are freaking out like I am. It’s like a way for keeping my sanity. Lol

See, you have a high chance of getting into the program. The essays are scored out of 5. Was this your first time taking the essay and TEAS? I might defer to cohort 60. I am not too sure about my TEAS and GPA score. I have until midnight to make up my mind before my test date.

I have a 3.6 GPA and an 89.3% on my TEAS. If I do continue with my process for cohort 59, I will be retaking my TEAS and try to aim for the 90's.
