National University SD Cohort 59 July19

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello future nurses,

I have recently applied to cohort 57 for National University in SD and was denied then decided to skip cohort 58 and get more study time in for the next cohort. I am not as nervous as I was in the first time I applied, people seem to be getting higher and higher teas scores which makes the program more difficult to get into, which is good it challenges all of us. When I took the essay i was super scared and didn't practice all the prompts, I didn't score well but scored better then I though I would have.

I am excited to hear from others that will be applying for the cohort 59 for July 2019!

Hi I am applying for Cohort 59 as well. I am finishing my Biomedical Stats right now, but after I will hopefully have a 3.6 GPA. I just started studying for the TEAS using the Smart Prep as I know my GPA isn't as strong as I would have hoped I wanted to try taking it a time before to see where I am at before applying and taking it through National. I keep seeing the other Cohort threads and the scores are getting so high I am getting anxious. Did you take practice TEAS test before hand and have an idea of what your score would be?

I have the same GPA, mine is a 3.675 and my TEAS right now is a 77 hoping to get to the mid high 80's and then study for the essay all of january before the test date. The TEAS is difficult to me in a way that you need to relearn everything and the part of not knowing what answers you got wrong so you know what to study for or change the next time you take it. I recommend taking the TEAS with your final score before the test date that way you go in with your best and can always take it at National and maybe score higher or give them the score you brought in. For the essay it is 60 minutes and very stressful the first time because everyone is in the same room and once they say go everyone is typing and its loud and you are trying to think so practice timing yourself in a loud room so you know you wont distracted by others around you.

Good Luck!

Good luck thanks for the heads up I've been going through all the previous cohort threads looking for tips Haha

I think Cohort 58 is starting to get their acceptance/rejection letters today. Does anyone know the points cut offs, average GPA/TEAS scores?

My friend just found out unfortunately she was not accepted. Hopefully better luck next time but once she lets me know about the cut off scores I'll post about them!

Cohort 58

Total score cut-off: 86.28

Average Essay that got in: 4.23

Average TEAS that got in: 88.81

Average Overall that got in: 90.02

How many times can you take the TEAS exam for National? And how long do you have to wait to repeat?

You can take the TEAS as many times as you want BEFORE you apply to Nationals cohort. There is no limit to the amount of times you can take it. If you take it ONLY at National when you apply for the cohort, the Max is 3. I took it before at SDSU months before and it was very easy to setup. I've seen people take up 6+ times before. Keep in mind it will cost $80-100 each time, but this is worth it considering the career you will have after. Good Luck!

Hey all,

I was reluctant to post on here, but I think that if i'm stressing theres a good chance other people are too... So maybe we can all keep each other sane! Lol. I barely made this application deadline,(applied today) and I'm surprised there are not a lot of people here! But anyway, I'm applying with a 94.4 and a 4.0. I want to actually study for the TEAS and see what i get this next time. We get to take one with national for a little cheaper right? There are literally nooooo ATI dates before March. Does anyone know the prompts for the essay? Thanks in advance.

@JCOWANCRAIG were you a student at SDSU when you took the TEAS there? or can anyone call in and take one?

I was not a student there. I was still taking pre reqs from National and called them up for a date 3 weeks out. Very stress free and i liked the setup with having your own private cubicle, which is unlike the National one with someone to your left and right with no dividers.
