Hello, I got my acceptance letter for the Cohort 59. I am ecstatic and can't wait to start. I have a question to those who got accepted into the 58, did you all start taking Spanish 340 A and 341? Oh and any tips would be useful from you all considering you've already started.

Hey, So, did you figure out anything about the deposit?

I stuck to the dreaded 5 paragraph format. I practiced each prompt several times until "I" knew that this would sell better and had friends and family go over all my writings and arguments. Don't be afraid to go Hollywood on it either because everyone is doing it. Be honest about your feelings and why you want to do it. I think the truth brings the best out of us. Going to the writing centre is also helpful as the people there are superb and helpful. But of course, none of this will help. Apparently the essays are being "phased out" and replaced by interviews. I think that's great.

I am in the same boat. On my first attempt, I did not practice the essay at all and I scored 4/5. During my second attempt, i took 2 months to go over all the prompts and practiced each of them several times and even got help from people to polish my English and fine tune my sales pitch. The result? I got 4/5. The moral of the story is...I don't know. Luck? Whether the graders had their coffee before they scored our essays, or if their moods were less than positive in the moment, or if they were a tad bit cranky...who knows? I would love to know. Of course, everything at NU is so sensitive and classified that they will not answer on these remarks. As some major Ivy league and public schools going through corrupt admissions scrutinies, I am beginning to look at NU in a different light. Alas, the struggle continues. Onward to the third and final attempt. Stay positive.

I didn't get in I am placed as an alternate. Here's the cut off score for Cohort 59: Cut-off overall score: 86.93 (absolute last person that got in) Average overall score: 89.44 Average GPA: 3.812 -> 38.12 Average Essay: 4.08 out of 5 Average TEAS: 87.21

Just received an email. I am placed as an alternate. Hopefully, i get in.

hey wonderful people, I applied to the last cohort but didn't get in. I missed the cut off by 0.5 point. It was a bummer. I'll retake the essay since i only got a 4/5. Not worried abut the TEAS. I'm sitting at a good 95.3 %. I retook a class so my GPA went up. So hopefully, fingers crossed, second times around will be a charm. Does anybody know how many people applied and such? This cohort is awfully quite ? Good luck everyone!

I did the TEAS and the essay today and got a 95.3 on the test. Both went well. Essay portion is hit or miss i think. I hope it's the former. What poetic bs can one really sum up in one hour? Good luck and may the deserving people get in the program. Cheers!

Hi, Good luck to all of us who are applying for a seat in Cohort 58. I got an email today about my TEAS exam and the proctored essay. it's on the 15th. As a practice, without studying, i took the TEAS at U.of Phoenix last week. I scored an 82. Time ran out on me in the Reading section so i left about 6 questions unanswered. I figured what i needed to focus on and i believe i can easily get close to a 95 and even more. For people like me, who struggle with computerized tests, try to stay calm. Don't let your nerves get the best of you. My GPA is not very pretty, a 3.0, so i'm forced to pump all my energy into the essay. I should have listened to my parents when they told me to do well in school. Oh well, how's everyone feeling? i would love to get to know some stats, so i can feel a little better or worse. I'm sure i'm not the only one who's curious. cheers!
