National university cohort 47

Published

Hello everyone!

I recently applied to the pb bsn program at national university- san diego location. I wanted to meet other potential nursing students who applied or are applying to this cohort. I was wondering what some of you scored on your teas, GPA, are you pb or generic entry etc. I can't wait to meet you all!! :)

Hello, good luck to you all! I've applied to this cohort also. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to start notifying us about getting in? Now that the eassy and teas are done I'm so anxious to know but can't remember or find anything about how long it takes. Thank you :)

Welcome to the anxiety party! I just asked today after my essay and the guy there told me end or March. Also told me that there were over 160 applicants for this cohort.

What is your GPA and TEAS score?

Ok awesome! I got an 84 on my teas and I have As and Bs.. Do you know which classes they use for the science/math GPA? I'm in the middle of moving and the notebook I have all that info in is in a box somewhere.

Im assuming:

micro bio

anatomy

physiology

bio med stats

I think there were a couple more..

Just those 4 :) I just used the lecture grades and to make it easier but my GPA is around 3.4-3.5.

Of course! I think the cohort before me had a higher average, probably 83, but for some reason they were higher than average. I had almost a 4.0 GPA but I scored pretty low on my teas, only a 72. I did well on the writing about a 4.3.

There was a huge range of TEAS scores, and I have a freind applying for this cohort so I asked a few of my friends and we ranged from low 60s-high 90's. it really depends on who applies when you are applying, but if your writing is strong that can really save you! We had quite a few people get in off the waitlist as well. Not everyone who gets in take a spot!

The process is really nerve wracking but try and relax, we got our results super fast but they arent always as fast as they were with us :)

Would an A- be a 3.7?

and does anyone know how exactly the essay score works?

I have no idea about the essay but I would love to find out. 3.7 is correct for an A-.

Thanks! Me too! I've been trying to look at past cohorts but there's different information from different people. I'm going to make an appt with my advisor soon, so when I find out, I'll post something.

Hello everyone! I was recently accepted as part of SD Cohort 46. Here's everything I can tell you about my experience.

Notification of Acceptance: I took my essay/TEAS at NU in late November and found out I got in in mid-January. You'll find out my email before it comes in the mail....I've found out that NU works on its own schedule...be patient.

Admission Points: Here's what my advisor sent to me after I asked about my essay score,

GPA - 45.7813

TEAS - 28.41(94.7%)

Essay - 14 (Essay score of 3.5)

Like most of you I was under the impression that the scoring was 40/40/20 (GPA/TEAS/Essay) but looking at my scores it seems like it may now be 50/30/20. The essay is scored on a scale of 1-5 and then that score is multiplied by 4 to get your total points out of 20 (3.5 x 4 = 14 for me). I'm not sure how I got 45 for GPA (I had Bs in Anatomy and Micro, and As in Physio/Biostats) and my TEAS score is shown above.

I hope this info helps alleviate some of the stress of applying (I knows what you're all feeling). Someone in my cohort said they asked about costs and it comes out to about $45,000. (however, NU holds the right to increase costs during the program)

I hope to see you around campus in the future and good luck to you all!

Hi JVC83! I tried to PM you back and allnurses won't let me since I am not active enough on the site or something. You can email me at [email protected] and I can answer your questions there!

Oh gosh. None of these numbers make sense to me. What were your scores for teas and GPA before this calculation?

I don't even know anymore, I'm trying not to think about it and just wait to find out. National is the only school I'm applying for so hopefully it is meant to be and I get accepted :)

I also applied to cohort 47! My math and science GPA is a 3.45. I have not taken the TEAS yet. My GPA is pretty average, so i'm hoping to do well on the TEAS. I AM A NERVOUS WRECK. I'm not too worried about the essay.

How did the teas go?
